2019 IG Journey & Case

I like his honesty on the journey thread and hopefully I can embark on a similar campaign as well. Success or not, I hope that this thread will be a documentation of my attempt with IG. I will do a weekly update on this thread. As this is a new project, my goal is on reaching a positive ROI. This means that even if I make only $1, as long as my cost is below this, I will be happy with it.

Project Code Name: Craking IG
Current Revenue: $0
Current daily clicks: 0

I will be focusing on the following three categories using 5-10 IG accounts per category. All the IG accounts are freshly created with zero warming up.

• Sports Betting ( I work directly with advertiser on recurring revenue share on a player lifespan)
• Dating ( I work directly with a CPA network on net 4 payout basis, to ease cashflow issue if scaling)
• Fashion ( Using Aliexpress affiliate program. Focusing one IG account to one niche product category)

Softwares that I am using:
1) GSA Image spider $37 one time cost
2) Followliker (I have a lifetime version without monthly subscription fee)
3) Massproxies will be used as proxy provider (due to cost consideration,not quality of proxy), $18 per month
4) Local sim cards in case of IG reverification (30 x $2 = $60). One time cost.
5) VPS $19/mth
6) Bemob tracker for stats analysis (free as I am using this from my other project)

Total setup cost: $134, Monthly recurring cost: $37

My Followliker setup:

1. Follow 200 - 400 daily based upon hashtag search
2. Unfollow 150 - 350 daily for those that do not follow back in three days or those that have not posted anything for the last 7 days
3. Commenting on other post using scrapped comments. Adding my IG account as @mention to create awareness to my IG account
4. Liking relevant post. 50 -150 likes per day
5. DM scrapped users directly to invite them to visit my IG account profile. 80-120 DM per day
6. Posting video/pic. 15-30 post per day with relevant hashtag and @mention to my IG account profile to create awareness.

I am using tumblr as free squeeze page. So each IG account will have a unique URL from tumblr tied to it. In case tumblr get blocked, my fall back will be linkedin.bio link.

All IG accounts will be converted to business so that I can check on the stats.

I will be using retargeting codes on the tumblr page so that I can leverage on cheaper retargeting media buying for my other projects.

Through the bemob tracker, I have setup postback. This allows me to see exactly what parameters of traffic are sending me conversions. This allows me to scale up using paid media for other project.

For hashtag research, I simply copy what the big brands are using. Not going to waste too much time on detail research as my assumption is that these bigger brands have much resources to do detail research.

My objective of this thread: To achieve a positive ROI even if it is just a dollar profit.

Finally finished setting up the IG accounts and started running the campaigns.
Took a bit of time to copy the hashtags used by the big accounts as there isn't any bot that can automate this.
Needed some help with excel to merge the hastag to the post description and then saving them to csv for upload to bot.

Now I am sitting on 30 sim cards and trying to find further uses to them apart from comment spamming on live stream apps. Anyone have any suggestion?

Mate what can you say about the FL bot? No bug? Easy to use? Can you give some feedback on using it?

I don't see much of a difference for bots. To me the cost matters in the beginning. And I happen to use FL because it is a one off payment and I got the software ages ago without using it. The rest of the bot can be a consideration once I see a positive ROI.

In replace of GSA Image spider, my programmer coded me a custom bot for free as a christmas gift. So another $37 saved.

Well it has been a joke so far. I have been getting around average 10% followback and still trying to optimize to get more followback.
However I noticed that 95% of the followback are promoters like myself. Quite disappointed and not very encouraging.
Profile link click in total was only 2 despite using 30 different accounts.

Let us see how it goes later on as I can foresee that this case study might not turn out too well.

interesting journey, I have a few questions:
1. how do you promote the sports betting niche on instagram? where do you redirect them? I don't think that a regular dude will simply start gambling or change his bookie because of an instagram page.
2. how many accounts per number/sim card?

you should not follow based upon hastag, go follow based upon followers. This should help you. Also do not use popular hashtags in your posts. This will only attract other bots.

Yes I would take your advise and follow on followers of popular accounts.

1. I get pictures of popular team or upcoming matches and post them (copyright issue so this is blackhat, account can get disabled). In the comment section, I quote live odds and ask people to place bets. Not sure if this will get account into trouble but so far, nothing yet since my IG account is not even getting exposure and clicks. I send them to a tumblr prelander currently. Maybe you are right with regards to people attitude but I am trying to attract those compulsive gamblers. Since I am no IG expert, I would have to test and try.

2. One number per sim per account. Are you able to use the same number for more than one IG account? I don't think I can do that. Never really tested this since my IG accounts are registered with sim number tied to it. IG will not allow me to create account based upon free email (hotmail,gmail,etc). So I have to use a working number to create the account. Not sure if this is a bug with IG.

Good luck on your journey! It's not true as people are creating accounts only with emails and later phone verify them...

ig is profitable. but problem is proxy and high ban rate.

I have no idea but this is the issue that I am facing. Not discouraging anyone to try as I am certain there are ways to bulk create the accounts.

Cost of operation is high with IG and very risky business model to bot as IG is very active to clamp down botting.

I have changed some of my accounts to personal instead of business. And saw an immediate increase of likes and commenting. It seems that personal account gets more exposure compared to business based upon my current observation. Reminds me of Facebook when they did force businesses to advertise to get exposure. It seems that IG is doing likewise. I will wait for a day or two to see the difference in performance before switching all the IG accounts to personal.

Are you satisfied with followliker? I have heard that it is crashing a lot lately..

I have yet to face any crashes at all. Jarvee or another alternative so call premium bot is out at the moment since I am not convinced that botting can be profitable as I am just starting out. So cost matters a lot in the beginning. My priority is to min cost so that in case of losses, the losses are capped.

Got some pleasant surprise today. I can confirmed that personal account gets more exposure as I am getting more likes and engagement compared to business accounts.

Example, for business account, I get like 1-5 likes per post. But another picture posted through personal account gets like 50 likes, 11 comments,etc.

Seems like Facebook is forcing instagram to adopt their model similar to facebook fanpage. Do take note of this everyone.

I also got my first conversion of the day. $9 for a latino dating offer.

You can cut the monthly cost of the VPN using the free amazon vps (aws.amazon.com) which work perfectly for 30 accounts

Received 33 clicks yesterday but zero conversion. Hmm, seems like luck has not been favoring me yesterday. Let us see if I can get some conversions today. One hiccup today, all my accounts receive PVA request. But nothing big occurs after the verification as I am still able to follow/ like as per normal.
