2017 Splogging Adsense Journey

Decided to do a quick update, because yesterday I hit a milestone and made $24, thanks to some good CPC/CTR. Average earnings per day for the past 7 days is $15. Traffic is about 3.2k pageviews a day now.

Meanwhile, my latest experiment continues to prove useless. Glad it's 2 days away from over.

If there are any data viz geeks out there, here's what my splog network looks like after approx 120 days.

Mini update:

Yesterday was another good day, this time ending at $23. This was mainly because of 2 things: more traffic (25% more vs average) and really good CTRs (+0.5% vs usual).

Question:
Is there any way to know what specific ad showed on which specific page? is the only way by linking adsense and GA? I want to see which ad + content aligned to produce such great CTR.

Today it's back to the normal CTR levels, expecting to end anywhere between $13-15 (currently at $10 with 8 hours left in the day). All time earnings are $820 (since May 1). Profit is about $400, you can refer to my one-time costs in past posts.

Finishing my ad experiment (blocking categories) and starting a bunch of simultaneous experiments of ad styles for text ads.

What do you mean you failed? Looks like a success to me. How much have the ~950 new sites earned you? Surely at the end of the year you can just skim the cream (sites making > $x) and then prune the rest and keep creating batches and keeping the winners?

Sounds like you got these done in a couple days... so you've definitely got the scalability there if so.

Sorry, I was referring to the feature "adsense experiments" as the failures i.e., inside adsense when you go to optimization > experiments. So far I can't find any winning tests to boost rpm.

Yes, so far this is looking to be a steady road to success. Overall traffic is steadily going up. I only wonder if I can hit $100/day with this.

As of today the total income is $834, with $313 being contributed by the newer 950 sites. I've been paid for $550 so far.

Hi, congrats on your partial success so far.

Couple questions:

1. How many domains are being used for this journey ?
2. Are they fresh or expired ?
3. Do you put the sites on subdomains or in subfolders ?
4. How many sites you put per single domain ?

Good luck @seyer

I have three questions for you:
1. What are the AVG visits per site? (if you have any estimated statistic)
2. Are you updating your sites after setup? (update posts daily/monthly)
3. Are you using any kind of promotion/ranking? (social media, backlinks etc)

looks great with the USD8xx earning

what is the ROI?

and does it method last long? i hate when google manual check and ban splogging

60 domains all fresh, 940 subdomains. No subfolders. Some have 10 sites, some 50, some 100, some 150.

Good luck @seyer

1. Sure -- yesterday there were 3.5k visits across ~350 sites, so that's 10 views per site per day on average. Of course there are some sites which get much more traffic than the others: highest is 400 lowest is 1.
2. Nope. Zero work after setup -- they update automatically
3. Nothing blackhat, I just submit them to whois/statistics/url submitters etc.

The blackhat part here is more of the splogging element rather than link building PBNs etc.

ROI: so for this journey I put out $410 to invest in some automation tools and domains to grow ~50 sites to 1,000 sites (+950 sites). So far as of today the 950 sites have made me $325 so the journey is not ROI yet. However these new 950 sites are now making about $70-$90/week so it should be ROI within the next 2 weeks. That would be 10 weeks payback period. If you include the initial 50 sites (total of 1,000 sites), the network has made $880 all-time. Hope that's clear.

As for your second question, that's what this journey is partly about: we'll all find out if my sites get deindexed, my adsense banned, or both. :)

Well if you don't post your urls here for the jealous whitehats to rat you out, you should do fine with your adsense account :)
Also even if your adsense account gets banned, your sites will not be deindexed usually, so you can just create a new account (or use a different ad network).

Hehehe. ;)

Hi OP, nice splogging journey. I was wondering if you authorize your verified sites to display ads?
This is what I mean:
https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/2781214?hl=en

With that much domain/subs, you don't authorize your domain I presume?

Yep that's right, I don't. Verification is only useful if you want to do pagelevel ads and matched content i think. I avoid those.

Update: Week 8

Referring back to this post: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/2017-splogging-adsense-journey.952072/page-5#post-10268244

I set my targets as follows, and so far it is on track.

After 2 months: $250/month -- ACHIEVED: the new sites are making $263/month (5% above target)
After 10 weeks: recover 100% of costs (payback period) -- ON-TRACK: recovered $336 out of $410 (82%), 2 weeks to go
After 4 months: $570/month
After 6 months: $970/month
After 10 months: $1.5k/month
After 12 months: $1.9k/month

Of equal importance to earnings, traffic continues to go up -- now at 42k PVs/month.

In case some of you are confused with the numbers: I track everything on a rolling basis, because not all the sites started at the same time. For example, sites 1-50 were made July 1, so week 1 for them is July 1-7. sites 51-100 were made July 15, so week 1 for them is July 15-21. And so on and so forth. I then align all the weeks 1,2,3,4.. etc and that's what I report here. It makes the most sense and keeps everything properly accounted for.

Hey. First of all this is a really great way to milk adsense, old but gold. I also tried to make a journey with spun/translated content with 3 expired domain but I got failed. I was also thinking generating thousands of websites but I haven't sorted out how to automize this process. Tried to create some macros but it is much complex than doing some basic stuffs actually. There should be a way to build numerious WP websites with some necessary plugins in a couple of minutes. I got 1and1 hosting and it allows up to 1000 subdomains. I may try this too actually.
Another problem is getting RSS sources. Did you scrape RSS feed urls for thousands of long tail keywords? I know this is not a method thread but it'd be cool if you give some ideas about automation :) Thanks.

Yes makes me think of using Adsense again lol! This time i use other ad networks with my PBN. I also put up ads on all my PBN site and use this for both. If u want to automate creating WP blogs u should try ARGO content generator man i use it to create all my PBN. Is much better as macro or similar. Since u say u want to use sudomains with it u can create all at once also let the tool install wordpress on all subdomain! @itz_styx maybe u want can say more :D

Demo is created in 2011. I'd never invest to something not updated for 6 years. Especially, when it's about SEO.

@blackh4t sorry i'm not allowed to comment on my own software as its taken as advertising.

@batiatus what are you talking about? The last update was like 2 months ago, its been in development since 7 years there are constantly new updates.
if you refer to the demo pages, they were created in 2011 as example for the website and are still indexed today by google even though they are auto generated, some even with pure markov text. they are just an example to show it works. however i've just added a new wpdemo 2 days ago, it was indexed within 7 hours so just take a look at that if you want to see something fresh.

That the sites are still in index since 2011 should tell u something mate :P also the tool get updated offten. Use it since years and i use many SEO tools in the past where the developer just vanishes and discontinues. Styx has supported ARGO content for many years now and even add many new feature on that time. Why i like this tool so much is one of the reason that i know Styx is doing SEO since decades, that mean this tool is not made by newbie who just want to make quick money. He also always is very helpful and you can reach him not like other that use ticket system where you never get proper answer.......

@itz_styx Sorry did not know this. But why u can not say even if i ask? I mean u can better tell feature as me lol

@blackh4t read the ToS or ask a mod, i already got warning points for just mentioning that "i wrote a tool" not even naming the software or adding any links after i asked a mod (jazzc) i got told "soft-selling is forbidden too", so i better just stfu haha so if you have any questions just post them in the official marketplace thread or PM me. now just stfu too before you get me in trouble for talking about my software :D ..just kidding ;)
