2017 Splogging Adsense Journey

So your basically just creating hundreds if not thousands of blog websites and stealing content from other blogs with an automatic system in different niches with an few adsense accounts spread over hundreds or thousands of websites? You my friend are a genius.

Could you please explain what you mean by this:
  • CMS installation / setup macros.
And what it does I tried googling it but not a lot of luck

Not sure if sarcasm because this isn't really groundbreaking stuff. This was popular stuff about 5 years ago, and then Google slammed it down hard with panda/penguin etc, so nobody talks about it anymore. Just here to try to prove my hypothesis that if done right, splogging at scale is still effective.

CMS installation / setup macros -- what I meant was basically a way of automating repetitive processes when installing a CMS (like joomla/wordpress/drupal, etc. and installing the necessary plugins, bots, setup files, widgets, ads, etc.). It usually takes 10 minutes each to do this by hand but with some tools you can get it down to a minute or two each depending on bandwidth/server speeds.

Nope not sarcasm at all, unfortunately 5 year ago I was still in education, so I missed out on this stuff

This is a thing I should be investing in. I will be following this thread on a daily, if you manage to do it ....I shall invest.

I still don't understand this csm thing, I'm sure I'll understand it later:confused:

Oh I searched this thread on google and found a website loaded with random posts and this full thread, so I'm sure I've already found 1 of your websites....:D

i dont think this is recommended for beginners especially those with tight cash

good journey. Who teach you splogging in the first time?

May I know what article spinner did you use? I don't think there's any spinner out there that are good and readable. Or google just don't really care about that?

Do you use .com or any new tlds are fine? Assuming if you're using .com, the cost would be way more than $200 for your domains/hostings unless you know a place to get it in bulk for cheap price.

I've been splogging for a couple years now. If you're serious about monetizing splogs with Adsense, you need to use multiple accounts and keep the monthly revenue per account rather low. I moved from Adsense to pay per call / CPA offers quickly so I can't tell you what's safe and what's not, but I'm thinking $300+ / day is almost certainly not.

Ok I understand. I have to agree with @axekicker that this might end up too costly if you're new to putting up websites and SEO. I suggest try to rank a site first and get traffic using white hat methods: keyword research, on page SEO, guest posts, quality backlinks etc etc. Once you get the hang of it then maybe you can experiment with splogging / autoblogging. Good luck!

Just myself. I'm not pro at all. :P

I'm not using any spinning services, I just use my own phrases/words to spin the article. This is to keep costs low and make sure the articles are still readable. What happens is one article will be spun X times and posted on X sites for maximum chance of getting ranked -- that's where I have my fingers crossed.

New TLDs are definitely ok to use and will rank.

Thanks for the advice! Just wondering -- did you get an adsense account ban for those MFA sites? I tried CPAs (OGads/CPA grip) on autoblogs but the time it takes to rank plus the time it takes to deindex is just too short to make good $ on CPA. Would be great to know if you have any advice to share going the CPA route, might consider in the future.

Cool method, following tihs.
Is splogging something was more popular in the 2000s, this is the first time i've heard about it on this site, it seems rarely mentioned.
Sometimes people talk about Panda update in 2011ish that targeted repeated content. Was that google targeting splogs ?

Yup you got it right. Those updates in 2011 were targeting EMDs, thin content, duplicate content sites aka splogs. So this genre was basically declared dead by that time.

Yes I did, on an Adsense account that was doing only $200-400 / month in revenue across something like 50 sites. The account lasted 7-8 months, which I attribute to the low revenue numbers. My content was human readable but not very unique.

I don't know anything about CPA grip, but OGads is something I would only use with garbage traffic, not organic search traffic. The type of CPA stuff I do is more lead / sales generation for a product or service. For example, pushing people who are looking for a plumber to call a number or fill out a form. Max Bounty & Ring Partner are both quite popular with sploggers, so you might consider signing up for one or both and getting some niche ideas.

Update 7/7:

*sticking to Adsense reports for consistency*

Earnings for past 2 days still averaging a few dollars, not much to write about. This is still income from my first 50 sites.

However it's good to see some of the new sites ranking and getting traffic within a week, with one even managing to earn 31 cents.

All I can do now is wait and maybe use rapid indexer every other day or so. Suggestions for faster/more efficient indexing most welcome.

Operational target: I'm toying with the idea of an expansion goal that, if at least 100 of the new sites generate income in a month, I will proceed to expand production to a total of around 1,500 or 2,000 sites. I have spare unused niches/keywords/ideas on the backburner that I'll use for those. Also in the process of applying for extra adsense accounts.

Glad to meet someone who's been in the same boat :)

What do you mean it lasted 7-8 months due to low revenue numbers -- what was the ban reason? Shouldn't adsense be more suspicious if you're generating strangely high revenue? Was wondering if you did anything explicitly black hat on the sites, such as cloaking. From my experience my sites only get deindexed, but my adsense account remains untouched.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check those two. If you don't mind me asking, what's your average earnings per month and across how many sites with CPA splogs? Or if you have a journey thread of that somewhere would appreciate sharing the link to it.

They did not give me a reason for banning the account, and my impression is that they usually do not. I was using scraped content but no cloaking. I'm assuming I got a manual review that triggered the ban, and that I avoided the manual review for a long time due to low revenue numbers.

During most of 2016 I was making a solid full time US income with 300 or so splogs. Then indexing got a lot harder late last year, and an update in March wiped out most of my network. I'm rebuilding now that indexing has gotten easier again, and though my costs are higher (cheap domains no longer work for my purposes) I'm confident that I can get back to where I was, just with thinner margins. I have no journey thread, but I've written about Serp Shaker on this forum in the past. That's what I use to build splogs.

Hmm it's gonna be uneventful a week or two, as the new sites continue to drip content and the sites do their SERP dance.

For now here's an update on earnings, but this is still from the first 50 sites. Some things to note:
  • These domains were purchased Jan 2017, and fully set up around Feb-Mar.
  • Up until late-April, I was experimenting with CPA and popads with little success.
  • Beginning May onwards I switched them all back to adsense, and that's what you see here.

Things I need help with:
  • Just one thing -- anything to help index new sites and content faster. i.e., is there a way to bulk submit xml sitemaps? Not just for google but also for bing/yahoo, yandex, duck duck go, ask.com

Helpful insights as always! If I may pick your mind a bit:
  • How much would be solid full time US income? $50k/year?
  • About Serp Shaker: Does it generate a fixed amount of posts upfront, or does it drip content over time? I understand you have to manually write the articles first and spin certain phrases and words for localization or whatnot? Just want to understand better.
  • Why don't cheap domains work anymore for your strategy? I've split test .com's and $1 domains and they seem to perform the same over a period of time.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll be able to get back on track and return even stronger.

aim for under 500 per Adsense account to avoid bans
Which tld's are you using?
