Hello
I'll try to answer some of your questions. As to experience level you should know this in advance. Your website should be set up for a specific market niche. I personally targeted those with little to no experience with the Internet. People who only used the Internet to download email, search for recipes, use MySpace, look at YouTube, etc...
As far as marketing or starting an Internet business they know ZILCH. Which makes them the perfect client/member for you. Because they're open to what you have to teach them and there's nothing for them to unlearn.
I start all of my members with the very basics. I first review what a website is and what it can do for them. Give them a taste of affiliate marketing. Then I start teaching them the real basics. How to choose a domain name, hosting service, ftp, setting up a blog, etc... Once they mastered that then I go on to teach them more advance things. It's a step-by-step progressive system.
Think sales funnel...
Taking your advice and running with it, I have a guy who does professional Camtasia videos for me for $29/month, and has a list of videos that are already completed with affiliate offers right in the video. All I have to do is make sure that the day the video unlocks, that 2 emails go out that day, both saying that the new video or set of videos are ready, and that they will need the software in the video to continue their "training". Redirects are managed by WP pretty links so they never show up. He also forwards me the script for the video, along with the camproj, swf, mov, and mp4 files.
Personally, I'm using Wp Wishlist, Aweber, and Optimizepress for this, because of all the options it offers me. Haven't hit a snag yet, just waiting for cards to come in for dirt cheap. Sign up for an account on 4over and get approval, and you'll have a TON of printing and marketing options, with printing plants all over the US.
Networking or JVing for this is easy, I've given the cards to friends, clients, local business owners (small town of 50k, most are commuters or know each other), bands going on tour...that sort of thing.
Thinking about getting the larger club flyers printed with website info and stuff on it and giving the box to my friend who is going to Bamboozle and having her put them on cars for me, possibly all 3 days. Easy marketing at the Meadowlands, affordable for the age range there who are sick of their jobs (late teens - late twenties), and chances are, they've packed out their minivans with friends who might want a shot too.
Opportunity doesn't knock, it beats down your door and screams for you to embrace it, like your psycho ex. :loco: You can let it sit there waiting, or you can make it happen.
This isn't as hard as it seems, guys. Like you always hear on the forums, ACTION is the first step. There's no ripple effect if you don't throw a few small stones to test the waters.
