For those running B2B SaaS affiliate or referral programs, which model has produced better partners?

We’re considering 20% recurring revenue for the lifetime of the customer for a workforce-management SaaS.

My concern is that a good commission may attract signups, but not necessarily active referrals.

For people who have run these programs:

  • Did recurring commissions improve partner activity?
  • What percentage worked?
  • What actually got partners to send qualified leads?

As someone promoting SAAS, definitely 20% recurring revenue...one-time I wouldn't even bother to promote

20% lifetime recurring if it is a high enough price on the saas, I see a lot of companies that cheap out and only offer for the next 12 month. If you want affiliates to invest time and money to get you good customers, they need a piece of the cake.

Makes sense. Recurring commission definitely seems more attractive for SaaS since the affiliate benefits from bringing customers who actually stick around.

From your experience, besides the commission itself, what usually makes a SaaS program worth actively promoting?

Agreed. If affiliates are investing real time and effort, lifetime recurring gives them a stronger reason to stay active. What SaaS price point do you think makes 20% genuinely attractive?
