1st page only with on page seo ?

It depends on the competition on that keyword. If the competition is too low or medium, then it may rank. Even I have ranked some of the keywords which are very low competitive only by on page optimization.

I just hit position 10 for a medium competition geo based search query. I only have one backlink from listing this site on flippa. The site is less than a year old and I've just been letting it sit dormant since I launched it. The inner page/post has about 700-800 words, well structured with good TF/IDF. Very few gaps in content on the other pages as well.

I'm hitting page two for a lot of other more competitive queries as well.

I've really done zero link building. Just very good on-page, content, and technical SEO. It can be done for low/medium competition keywords for sure.
Yes i believe on page optimization is very important for SEO. If you cannot do On page optimization properly it will hamper you website. This post was very helpful for me, thanks for sharing.

possible to get a place on the first page with on-page optimization.
But, if you want to with stand for longer time with the same position definitely you need to work off page optimization as well.

Possible for non-comercial or very low search kws even for a fresh site. When your site ages and gets more authority you can target harder kws.

On-page SEO usually only works for local keywords with a city or suburb name after the keyword, but in popular areas even those may be too competitive.

Otherwise, any other keywords, even 4-5 word long tails, normally require link building as well.

From my experience:

1) A website with no backlinks can rank on the first page for an easy keyword if the on-page SEO is spot on. That means valuable content, images, many subheadings, and at least 1500 words.
2) If you write an article on a website with a few backlinks (40 domains, niche-relevant) to its homepage, it can rank without backlinks if the homepage links to the article. Yes works for both easy and medium keywords as long as your one-page SEO is spot on. It takes around 2 months for it to hit top 10 naturally. This happened to me for more than 10 articles I wrote in 2016.

Yes, backlinks mean a lot and can do a lot but you can save a lot of costs if you actually write good content.

That is gurucrap advice putting your site even more to keyword stuffing penalty.

Please follow the advice and he stuck on page 2 for ever ...

And what do you recommend to put in alt= descriptions to avoid getting stuck? Imagine that your site is composed of multiple image galleries

The more you study keyword research the better you can understand seo.

You can use many low comp keywords to make good money .

Your need to also do backlinking to keep serp postion but that normall seo pratice.

dude, I do 50% of my working day balancing on page density - I stick either nothing or simple URL into alt. ALT wont help you shit.
FILE-NAME.txt is ENOUGH.

I am even now doing my tests using image maps again.

Thanks for the answer. You said alt wont help me but, can he penalize? I mean, it's the 3rd week cleanning all my site and I made the mistake 3 months ago of putting lot of kws in the alt field. That made densities to rise until 9-10%, so after reading your case study I'm correcting every alt, one by one. Is it worthy?

It is definitely possible. But it depends entirely on the keywords in question. So, I wouldn't be too sure if it will be possible for all new sites to rank on the first page of Google, despite SEO done the right way or not.

im using yoast for low keywords and article with like 400 words and im getting 2th on the first page so you can do it also !
