Hello,

I am aware that aged and authority domains can rank their inner pages on 1st page of google only with one page seo.

My question is from your experience can a new site inner pages targeting different easy keywords each rank on 1st page only with on page seo done the right way(tutorials here for example @Zwielicht)

for very specific keywords it's possible but i never achieved that for broad queries. All depend on what your competitors are doing and I agree with @neilbhabuta, it depend on how easy the keywords really are

Its possible if the keyword is really low comp.

You can do it but the keyword needs to be long tail and you need to have the best possible page for it.

Or a really good blog post detailing the search, and add useful information to it.

It always depends on the searches per month and what others are doing for the same keyword, but if you interlink your pages correctly and maybe add a pillar article to support the landing page, you can do it.

If we're talking about a keyword of around or up to 500-1000 searches per month, medium competition, you may even be able to do it without the blog post.

Thanks for your opinions. I guess I will have to try and find out.

While we are at it, do you consider pinterest pages on 1st page good or bad sign ? I find controversial opinions.

Not sure how this is a good sign, it depends on the user intent. That's not always the case but usually when Google ranks Pinterest boards on the first page, it does it because Google thinks that images represent a good answer to user intent, if that's the case, note sure if a blog post will do the trick. So you have to consider if articles are already ranking for the query, if not, maybe you should play with images, or add a gallery to your post

What you say makes sense. Beside the pinterest there are sites with very little content but with a lot of images on the page.

So maybe I have to do the same add a lot of images + more content than them and hopefully outrank them.

Make sure to optimize the images as well. --> https://yoast.com/image-seo/ , https://yoast.com/image-seo-alt-tag-and-title-tag-optimization/ , https://www.shopify.com/blog/7412852-10-must-know-image-optimization-tips

Place text around them describing what the page is all about and maybe make a nice looking gallery ( probably with subtle effects, not too much ) and have social buttons around to further give your readers the chance to like/tweet/write about them.

Possible, but OnPage must be top. You need to outrank competition concering Speed (Page load time), Content, internal linking and structure!

Yes it is possible, excellent on page seo, great keywords and excellent content to capture readers attention.

It just depends on the competition for the keyword. Probably for a lesser / medium comp keyword it is easy to rank in top 100 or 50 but not on first page with onpage optimization.

Click bait writting can help .

Can defiantly be done , domain name will need to be heigh in moz stats and grate article.

That is gurucrap advice putting your site even more to keyword stuffing penalty.

Please follow the advice and he stuck on page 2 for ever ...

Gurucrap?

Says who? This advice isn't intended to make you rank 1st just because you follow it. There are tons of other factors.

He can just buy links and he'll be fast forwarded to the 1st page even if he has an elephant picture on a iphone landing page.

If you have any helpful input that's better than the gurucrap you can write it publicly so you might actually do something useful.

I just hit position 10 for a medium competition geo based search query. I only have one backlink from listing this site on flippa. The site is less than a year old and I've just been letting it sit dormant since I launched it. The inner page/post has about 700-800 words, well structured with good TF/IDF. Very few gaps in content on the other pages as well.

I'm hitting page two for a lot of other more competitive queries as well.

I've really done zero link building. Just very good on-page, content, and technical SEO. It can be done for low/medium competition keywords for sure.

Thanks for all the replies.

How much time after the site creation did you get these rankings ? I understand domain is less than year old, what I am asking is a how much time after it was indexed it ranked.

Question also goes for everyone. From your experience how much time after the site was indexed it ranked lets say in top 20 even without backlinks ?

Original post date was Sep 17, 2016. I launched the site just a couple weeks before that. Haven't touched it since then because it was a of a test project.

If you get your inner pages ranked for low comp keywords just by doing on-page SEO, then chances are those keywords are pretty much dead for traffic.

You would probably need to be ranked for hundreds of those type of keywords to get any meaningful traffic.
