$150,000 by Dec 2020. Crushing it on Upwork

Thanks :) What skills did you mention while applying?

Well, it’s all a bit strange I have to admit...
Over the past 25 years I was fortunate enough to built and ultimately sell 4 pretty decent sized internet companies (all in the hosting / dns / cdn space) and due to that I have a lot of high level business / sales-marketing / venture financing / m&a experience. After my divorce I decided it was time to unretire and I began looking for the right (for or non-profit) business/organization to work with. Upwork seemed like a good platform I could use to find the right candidates.

I did not get a confirmation of my Upwork application nor anything else, BUT I was able to actually submit a bid earlier today on an hourly project by using some tokens Upwork apparently uses. I have absolutely no idea if I was somehow auto approved (highly unlikely IMO) or if that is something they let everybody do (hard to imagine as well).

Great! Wish you best luck bro! And please share it to us when you achieved it..

Good luck bro. I'am also new in upwork and still I cannot get any projects.. any tips so I can have some projects?

I live in bangalore too, You're such an inspiration. I would love to talk to you, Could you please dm me? I can't because I'm still a newbie

This is sounds good to be true for sure. Could you attach a screenshot or two in every update? Never seen it shared throughout your journey threads since beginning. It motivated a lot more fyi

Just signed up for Upwork to see if I can get some gigs :) Great inspiration!

I don't think anyone else will be able to replicate his success. He has got some special talent and skills

Good Luck!
Thanks bruv :)

if you need help tell me haha 1 hour of work
It would be great if you can share your account approval process here, as many people have messaged me to help them with that. But I don't know any tricks for that. My upwork account is very old (when it was called oDesk) but I see that it's difficult to get new accounts approved these days. Are you offering Upwork account approval as a service?

Congratulations :) I hope you get your first project soon. What ticket size are you aiming at?

Thanks Bruv. I'll do that.

Bro, I've mentioned in my earlier posts too. There are no hidden tricks here. Make sure your profile is well written and has plenty of past projects in the portfolio section. Upgrade to Upwork Plus ($15 per month), and keep applying to jobs non-stop. That's all I'm doing here - nothing special. But in many ways I have a little bit of luck because of my experience in my niche outside of Upwork.

I don't think it's appropriate to share earning screenshots because, this is a personal journey, not a "make money" guide. I'm updating the earnings to keep myself accountable. I'm not offering any value to the viewers here, I'm rather taking from them - when someone comments "good luck" and "all the best" it's kind of addictive and motivates me to continue the journey. Also, I'm not selling any course on "how to make money on Upwork" so I don't need to show any earning screenshot as proof. Also, many other freelancers on Upwork are making this kind of money - it's nothing rare. Lawyers and Patent Attorneys earn 6 figure+ annually. There's plenty of proof of people on Upwork making this kind of money.

All the best :) Don't stop pitching.

lol No special talent or skills. Just old fashioned hard work. Not really hard work, but consistency in applying to jobs daily is what's helping. I've applied to 100+ jobs this month so far. If you meet anyone from sales (not online sales) you'd see they are used to keep trying even after non-stop rejections. But that one deal that get's closed makes all the hustle worthwhile. That's all I'm doing here. Right now I'm training a friend to keep pitching while I focus on executing the projects won.

Thanks bruv :)

I have one approved Upwork account laying vacant. You think we can come together and do something on it ?

I know but this looks suspicious to me. I've seen couple of 'journey' thread are blowing the hot air, to capture interest and tribe for future selling (who knows?), create "trusted member profile" image for something else, or as simple as personal desire to get appreciated and give advice - like those gurus who don't even have their own business running. Fake it until you make it they said - and I am sure you understand already as you've got some interesting offer from these thread, right? :) so many many people use different approach for this and sometimes your nose is good enough to smell something that isn't real no matter how well you planned it

Not wanting to screw this up but shouldn't always be $$ proof ... I own my own venture on upwork (same as you since its odesk) and as pointed by others here its not that easy unless you have loyal client. It could be dangerous tho for a lot of starter if you give them false hope.. possibly new order notification is enough to prove it

In which part of bangalore are you living? I have trusted friend over there if its too private to share even in PM (or you can just reply my PM regarding your address, upwork profile, and website)

I know you seems so knowledgeable in IM theory (like have been in field for many years learning) and proficient in english. Wether its real / fake, you really doing it nicely

I don't owe you any proofs or updates sister. Good luck with your journey ❤️ Just because you aren't seeing results on Upwork doesn't mean others aren't making money on it.

Personal desire to get appreciated - Yes
Give advice - No

Forget your friend in Bangalore, even if you were my neighbor, I would not show you my profile or earnings because:
1) I'm not giving you anything.
2) I'm not taking anything from you.

Anything written in this journey is only what works for me. I've never suggested anyone to do anything that I haven't done myself. If you are really that curious, you can private message every person who's commented on this journey and ask them what exactly I have messaged them and they'll let you know if I've been going around giving free or paid advice. That would help you more - because from me you can't extract anything.

I also have an approved upwork account lying there. I've made some 400 to 500 USD in social media gigs. Got busy with Ebay and let the acct rest. If we can do something with the account I'd love it

What exactly do you do on Upwork? To be honest I'm still working solo, and training a friend now to pitch and also do some work AFTER I win the project.

I'm still thinking how to manage a JV on Upwork cuz example: you do SEO, I can get SEO projects on Upwork but I don't know anything about SEO. So if a client wants to get on a call with me before or during the project (calling inside the Upwork platform itself) and ask me technical questions that I cannot answer, that will get everyone in trouble. lol

Also if the project is paid on hourly basis then I don't know how to dabble between different hourly projects at the same time with multiple JV partners.

I have been in this forum for 10 years, been a member for 8. I have had my fair share of haters and naysayers. Haters are proof that you are growing and doing something right. I have known stepdub for around 2 years now, he came to my office seeking some advice for his offline business in Bangalore, since then we are good friends. Every time we meet I get to learn something new from him.

I know its easy to call someone out and hard to digest the success of other IMers around you and appreciate their hard work. But again we are humans, we will behave like one.

I dont think stepdub needs to prove his earnings to you or anyone on this forum for that matter, its upto you if you want to use the learnings from his journey and grow your upwork business or be a dick and call him fake. He should take it with a pinch of salt and just move on. Its a part of everyone's growth story, has been in mine too!
