I want to start earning some good money online, just like everyone. Before I start creating websites I want to know which is the better alternative and which one will bring me more money in the long run. I can create 15 to 20 wordpress micro niche sites each with 10 articles from RSS, paid, hand made, etc. Or I can create a 1 custom web 2.0 authority website in rails targeted to a specific niche. For example a social bookmarking site for sunglasses. I will spend 1 week on this. Which one of these two option do you think will bring me more money?

What if I create many subdomains from my authority site template targeting different niches, like sunglasses.myowndomain.com, pencil.myowndomain.com, etc. Will it affect my ranking or something? Or is it better to use myowndomain.com and create different categories within that site?

If I am going to spend so many hours coding and designing, I may as well reuse it.

Why not do both? Develop an authority niche site with 15 or so divisions, only do enough kw research on each section that the content can also support them individually as 15 viable MNSs. Or, start from identifying a niche you really want to work with, then figure out 14 related niches matching it that fall under a master niche. Write 5 articles for each MNS, then rewrite each set for the authority site.

Put up each MNS as the content and monetization is ready, and the authority site once you have enough divisions ready. Then compare over time which one does better. Later on, you can always flip either the MNSs, or the AS while keeping the other (giving you best of both worlds---a big cash payoff, while keeping ongoing income, from the same initial work).

Man, bumping your thread won't help much.

There's a ton of discussions on here already about
a. the merits and demerits of both MNS and Authority sites
b. the merits and demerit of both subdomains and standalone domains

And, there's a lot of journeys/case studies.

You need to do a bit of reading before you ask a question. And asking like you did above is just going to get you opinions, that are likely to have no basis in facts.

And without knowing your niche, how big it is, the competition you might face, and indeed how social it is, nobody can give you a straight answer on whether to go MNS or Authority.

i will advise instead of creating like abc.yourdomain.com , xyz.yourdoamin.com you should create www.yourdomain.com/abc, yourdomain.com/xyz..
so that it can pass some link juice and authority also.. otherwise get new domains for everythings.

Actually the only thing I have been doing this past months is reading. I have been selling gigs and stuff but now I want to create a website.
There is no point in spending 1 weeks creating a custom Pinterest/Facebook clone targeting a niche if I won't get conversion. I have read some discussions talking about creating a wordpress authority site but none of creating a unique web 2.0 website vs MNS. And actually all I am looking for is opinions, the only way I can get a fact is if I test it myself hundreds of times. Thanks for the reply.

Thank you very much for your advice.

I guess this week I will create a Authority Site (Social Network) and create the MNS the next week and test witch one is better for making money.

I would start with mns then building the authority site and pointing your mns to the authorithy sites

They are both fine, as long as you have a plan on ranking them.

So in the end the only thing that will matter is the traffic that I receive to the website. It dosn't matter if I have a cool custom website app in a mns, if someone is ranking #1 for a certain keyword with a plain wordpress site, he will get more leads and more money? The most important thing then is getting traffic. Will have to test this out, I am currently creating a fiverr reselling site and the custom social network(this will take me some time). Let's see how it goes. Thanks

I just made a thread about this haha. It seems like most people say focus on one site and if it's successful then move on to more.
