I am a new direct to consumer e-commerce business. I made a custom supplement and the product and packaging really is incredible.

I spent $15,000 and only got 20 sales, about $1,000 in sales. I only need about a 1x ROAS. My creative is good, landing page conversion rate is amazing so the website is good, also CTR is good. I think the main issue is that the CPM is around $250. CPM stays high no matter what I do. I have created many campaigns to test different angles.

What do you suggest I should try next?

It feels like I am stuck in the learning phase and can't get out. I am scared if this keeps stating like this I may need to close my business which I worked on for over a year to get here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey, Simply go on twitter and post a picture with your website link and ask people to roast your website or packaging, this is the best way to get people eye on your brand and even right insights from the experts and potential customers. If you are in the supplement industry try tapping on tik tok shop and Instagram ads

Don't pay Facebook for CPM, but pay Facebook for CPC, it's better if you direct to the landing page site

I usually test products/landings and creatives in European countries, the data pretty much applies to US, in that case you can save a lot of budget of testing phase. and your product price is not that high, so in optimum ad you should expect a sales every 10 to 15 visitors.
If that is not happening maybe product is not that good.
Also make sure to have upsells, my most campaigns were profitable only because of upsells.

Create a conversion campaign with a daily budget of 30$, make the campaign broad without interest or any filter and let facebook algorithms find interested people with low cost, the campaign will take around 6 days to be optimised, don't stop it in first 3 days.
Create multiple creatives, at least 5 creatives, hire someone on fiverr to do creatives and ad copy for you don't try to do everything yourself.

Paying $250 for CPM shows that you have not fully understood the way Facebook advertising works. It will be better to hire someone who is good in that to help you out. That will save you a lot of money. You will also learn a lot by going through what the person is doing.

I agree with all of the above. But if you only feel like doing one, definitely choose narrowing down your audience.

That burn rate for that revenue is not confidence inspiring unfortunately.

Also as someone else mentioned - switching to CPC would be a good idea.

99% of people are not gonna, run another type of campaign.

Consider running FB leads campaign, capture their contact details before you send them to your landing page.

Or perhaps try creating a video... Focus on getting views for cheap .... Then retarget those custom audiences, that might bring down the CPM.

Why did you spend 15k if it wasn't working since the beginning?

Did you create retargeting audiences? I imagine you've reached a good amount of people who at least viewed your ads. You can create a retargeting audience based off of people who watched your video, went to your site, etc. I would say start there. Most people don't buy right off the ad, you have to keep your ad in their feed over and over (short attention span people these days) - That's my first advice, then yeah that CPM is super high, definitely try to go for a click based objective I would say.

You shouldn't be spending that much unless its a VC backed project or that the amount means almost nothing to you.

I would try to grow organic or doing cold email, 15k could get you a lot of value and insights about your business if you place them in the right place.

maybe your landing isnt so perfect . may we see it ? mybe we can find some bugs overal do audit
i dont think that somebody will steel your idea
wish you luck with your journey

Sell on tiktokshop and ecomerce plateform like ebay amazon

That is very poor roi. Either learn ads from some expert or hire someone to optimize the ads. Learning yourself will help you entire life in other projects as well.

You spent quite a lot

1. Before you start scaling on Facebook, you need to start small to test.

2. Testing is key just so you know the exact adset to scale.

3. Are you selling the right product to the audiences that you are targeting on Facebook? (This might be your issues).

Hope marketing won't get you far, If you're good at some part of the business, then outsource what you don't have experiences on.

No matter what we tell you about optimizing a campaign, it won't help you, because the simple fact that burned through that $15000 budget, without having a strategy to test creatives, lp's, angles, unless you have time to sit & learn facebook ads, I suggest you just hire an ADS management service.

Did you really spend that much or you are just bullshitting us, doesnt add up OP.

Everything is amazing, incredible and good according to yourself. You seem too much in love with your product, your methods and probably your own person.

Lack of self-criticism leads to lack of self-awareness.

Spending 15k to get 1k in return tells you everything you need to know about your product. Even those sales, if your product and packaging were so "incredible" would have lead to more sales via mouth to mouth. It hasn't.

Back to drawingboard bro.
