    11 KILLER On-Site SEO Factors

Before I start, this is For moderators I wrote this all by my own, so I am the owner of this content, however it's also placed in my website.. I just wanted to make sure if this is allowed to be posted (if not just delete it and I'll never make such threads again, just don't ban me ofc)

So let's begin, most of you guys give much more attention to building backlinks to their websites and totally forget how important on-site SEO is, which is kinda weird because although off-site SEO is much more harder than on-site, both of them have almost the same importance for rankings.
When Google's spider comes to your website, you should impress it and show it that your webpage is the one that deserves to be ranked higher than competitors. Believe me guys, give some more time to on-site SEO and you can rank for your desired keyword with 50% less efforts. In fact, today I will reveal to you some unique ways I used to gain Google's trust without any backlinking.
I will start with simple and famous factors so we cover everything, then deeper below I will show you some unique and PROVEN techniques I used myself which made my rankings process much comfortable, so just read and see :

    (1)
    Title Tags & Meta Description

I know that most of you already know how much your webpages titles and meta descriptions are important for SEO, it is something that you can't avoid. Title tags & meta description are extremely important for SEO, not just because the search engine gives them big attention, also because that when people search something, they will usually pick the most attractive result between the first 3, so to get your webpage a better CTR, make sure to follow these points:

    • Make an Eye-Catching title & description: Remember that the user will choose the most eye-caching title and description between the first 3-4 results!
    • Include your main keyword: This is repeated everywhere because it's really important. Make sure to include your primary keyword in the title and also in description, but also don't write it more than once on each(twice maximum if you had to).
    • Limit title to 65 characters: Search engines will usually cut the rest as most of the search engines only show the first 65 characters of the title, so try to aim for a 65 characters title or less.
    • Limit description to 160 characters: For the same reason above, also limiting your meta description to 160 characters is important for a better SEO and a better CTR.
    • Title structure: Put your webpage title at first, then put your brand name. Just like WizIMS do, for example "11 Killer On-Site SEO Factors | WizIMS"

    (2)
    Alt Tags
Another important thing to do in order to show Google's spider that your content is related to the desired keyword, is by adding alt tags to your images. Make sure to put your primary keyword in one alt tag, and it's even better to include your secondary keywords in the other images alts.
Pay attention : Do NOT over use this with the same keyword. Putting the same keyword in all your images in the same page may rise a red flag to Google, so make sure to use it wisely.
How to add the alt tag to images ?
For those who don't know how to add an alt tag to the image, here's an example:
    <img src="http://wizims.com/images/avatar.png" alt="Internet Marketing"></img>
Another point I want to mention before moving further, is to add your keywords to your images files names, for example instead of "Image5.png" use "WeightLoss.png" .

    (3)
    Headings (H1 / H2)
Another truly important factor to your on-site SEO is how you use the headings, as you want to show Google what are the keywords your page is about (primary keywords), and what also can be found in your webpage content (secondary keywords).
To do this, put your primary keyword(s) in the H1 tag (e.g. <h1>Buy Online Shoes</h1> ) and try to include your secondary keywords in the H2 tags (e.g. <h2>Buy Cheap Shoes Online</h2> ).
Make sure not to do this in a spammy way because it'll just look suspicious to search engines and crappy to readers, so put efforts to make it look good for both humans and spiders.

    (4)
    Keyword Density
    [IMG]
Most people think that the more they throw their keyword in their article the better it is for SEO, THAT IS TOTALLY WRONG!
If you repeat your keyword(s) too often, it will just annoy your users and raise a red flag to the search engines. But in the other hand you should mention you keyword(s) in the article when it's suitable so that search engines could at least know what is your webpage about.
For this two reasons, make sure to have the keyword density in your webpage between 4% to 8% which is perfect.

    (5)
    Internal Linking (Interlinking)
It is really essential to help the Google's spiders to easily travel in your website and find all the pages easily, and the best way to do that is to have a sitemap along with strong internal links inside your webpages, as this will also show Google that your website's content is all related to each other, which leads to ranking higher in your niche's keywords.
Internal linking means to link to different pages in your website from your website pages. When I link to Tools, this is an example of an internal link.
In WordPress and other CMS, the classic structure makes this easier for you (Check for example WizIMS internal links above and on your right hand).

    (6)
    Sitemap
For the same purpose that we use interlinking, the sitemap helps the search engine's spiders to crawl all your webpages easily by showing them all the pages list in upfront.
The sitemap also tells the spiders how often your webpages get updated, and how important each is. According to my experience, for new sites, spiders won't really "believe" what your sitemap says (About update frequency and pages importance), therefore it is important to put real values in the sitemap so you can gain the spider's trust.
    How to make a sitemap?
For those who don't know how to make a sitemap:
1)Generate a new sitemap to your website using a sitemap generator.
2)Download the file you made, and rename it to sitemap.xml
    3)Upload sitemap.xml to your root domain (e.g. http://wizims.com/sitemap.xml)
*It's even better if you submit your sitemap to Google webmaster tools if you have one
*For WordPress users, it's much easier to use the Google sitemap generator plugin.

    (7)
    Quality External Links !
The first surprising factor revealed, external links are important and I proved that with my website as I saw some SEO improvement on all my websites just by adding external links.
When I say external links, I don't mean linking to weak websites or your same Class C IP websites cause that can just harm your SEO.
You need to link to 1-2 RELATED, Quality and high PR websites, this way you will show the Google spider that your website is honestly providing quality stuff about the specific keyword so that it even links to quality related websites.
Please pay attention to the following before adding the external link(s) :

    • Link to RELATED webpages only
    • Link to webpages with High PR only (PR 5 at least)
    • Link to authority websites only (Wikipedia is ideal)
    • You can put the link in footer so you don't just loose traffic to the other webpage.
Also make sure to ignore the following :

    • Don't link to a competitor webpage - Google your target keyword and make sure the specific webpage isn't in top 20.
    • Don't link to your websites - Google can easily track that, so just make sure to link to related, honest and quality webpages only.
    • This won't work if your website doesn't have enough content, you need a content-rich webpage to use this.

    (8)
    Robots.txt File
    [IMG]
With the text you put in robot.txt, you can tell search engine's robots (spiders) not to crawl or index selected webpages in your website. "robots.txt" is important for SEO even if you just want to index all your website files, and in this case this is what your robots.txt file should look like :
    User-agent: * Disallow: / Sitemap: http://YourWebsite.com/sitemap.xml
If you want, just copy and paste this to a "robots.txt" file and upload to your website root (wizims.com/robots.txt). If you want a custom robots.txt you can simply make with a robots.txt generator.

    (9)
    SEO-Friendly URLs
Another great way to show Google that your webpage's content is relevant to the desired keyword, is by including your main keyword in the webpage URL. Also make sure to separate words in URL with ("-") and NOT to make it too long.
An example of a perfect URL, in case we are targeting the keyword "Skin Care" :
This will also attract the users in search engines, as they will see part of your URL in bold when they search for your desired keyword.
Another important thing, if possible, is to include your main keyword in the domain name (e.g. SkinCareOnline.com or w/e) , this will give your website a big advantage over your competitors.

    (10)
    Content People!
Again, I know this is repeated everywhere, but there is a reason for that..
Having a quality, unique and related content on your website is one of the most crucial on-site SEO factors. Before writing your webpage's content, pay attention to the following :

    • Don't just put plain text in all your page, both visitors and Google love to see pictures and other stuff mixed in the webpage.
    • If possible, aim for at least 500 words in your webpage.
    • Include your keyword when it's suitable, just don't do that too much, your keyword density should range between 5% and 8%.
    (11)
    Google Adsense.
It might sounds weird and unfamiliar, but think again please, what is the main goal of all companies? Success and money of course. Google can make much more millions and bring much more success to Google Adsense just by "preferring" websites with Adsense on.
I was skeptic about whether Google prefers websites with Adsense or no, but my doubt seems to be 100% true.
I did a test on my website where all I did was just adding Adsense, and guess what? there was a good SEO improvement on most of them! So I really suggest you try this and see yourself.

Can't wait for your thanks & comments

Have a wonderful day everyone

    Nice one!
In most cases we are looking for complicated things and forget the simple ones.
    That's sad! :\

I have a question if you don't mind, you mentioned to "keyword density in your webpage between 4% to 8%"?
Isn't this a tad high? You had good experience with your KW density? Highest I ever went was 3%, will increasing it have a positive effect?
    Thanks, great article :)

Seems high to me as well. But I haven't done my own testing on that, so I can't really say with any certainty, either. Will be interested to hear the response on this.

I've never heard of that one either.. but it does sound about right actually. think about it.

Google will want to give your site a burst in the serps over sites because if people click on your links they'll be seeing googles ads.. and they make more money.

3% Isn't bad neither, just make sure to include your keyword at least in title and meta description, then 3% will be enough :)

4% KW density is very high.. not to mention 8%... If you have used SEOpressor putting That kind of keywords density will lower your score. I think putting keyword density just below 3% is just about right.

Anyways, The other tips is ok though I haven't tested #11.

I find it very hard to believe #11 is true. Have you heard of MFA sites? Google recently penalized a lot of these...

well, the question wasn't from me but always make sure that the external links are no follow otherwise the link juice will start flowing there if it is a do-follow link.

That's another case for that :)

That's good mates, a new shit is discovered here.. I mean, Google must be doing that with all their services! Like preferring websites that advertise in Adwords as well.. I mean, they prefer these sites, these sites achieve more success = More money invested in adwords!

Think about it fellas, and let me know what u think

P.S. It's all opinions, nothing is proved here, but also nothing is proved in SEO!
