100k on Video but only $100 Earned?

Hi guys

I have got youtube channel which has 15k subscribers. Recently i posted a video that managed to go viral for my channel and got over 100k views. But when i checked my earnings it was rubbish only made a $100. Any thoughts on the reason for this?

The video is legit and is over 5 minutes long

Maybe because most views are from 3 tier countries?
 
Yea it gives a reason why some big youtubers try to get people in to patreon. Youtube dont pay that much anymore.
 
Most of views are from UK US and AUS
 
It depends on the type of content and the demographics.Advertisers spend a lot around this time because of Christmas.
 
youtube is overcrowded. Not paying the same amount they used to. plus some tier 2 and tier 3 countries are prolly a big part of those 100k viewers
 
I have a video with 450k views and 110$ earned. 1$ CPM is good.
 
Yeah, just to reiterate what a lot of people have said on this thread. $1 CPM is pretty standard across the board (honestly nowadays on youtube with ad revenue declining, you're actually kind of lucky you received $1/1000 views).
 
In my country for 30k views i got 1.80$ and the views was almost all from us :( i'm jealous of you.
 
now days youtube not paying to much. i got 170k views on a video and earn only $62 ;(

,i don't know if this is the problem, i checked the adsense infos or something like that and 50 persons saw the ad in the video and i got 1.80$ but this is how it works?
