100k on Video but only $100 Earned?

Hi guys

I have got youtube channel which has 15k subscribers. Recently i posted a video that managed to go viral for my channel and got over 100k views. But when i checked my earnings it was rubbish only made a $100. Any thoughts on the reason for this?

The video is legit and is over 5 minutes long

youtube is overcrowded. Not paying the same amount they used to. plus some tier 2 and tier 3 countries are prolly a big part of those 100k viewers

Yeah, just to reiterate what a lot of people have said on this thread. $1 CPM is pretty standard across the board (honestly nowadays on youtube with ad revenue declining, you're actually kind of lucky you received $1/1000 views).

,i don't know if this is the problem, i checked the adsense infos or something like that and 50 persons saw the ad in the video and i got 1.80$ but this is how it works?
