What is a reasonable price to pay someone to do SEO work on a website? My main focus is local as its a business. The domain is aged but the content is new as it sat for awhile before being built. Just wonder what is a reasonable price to try to find someone to do the SEO for me.

100 is definitely not it, definitely not on a business site. If someone agrees to that they'll probably end up buying you 4-5 fiverr gigs during that month and that's all.

Real work isn't worth that little, I value my time a lot higher than that and I assume most SEOs do.

You're going to get ripped off in one way or another with a budget like that.

Ok well what price range are we talking? Its not an online business i only need to bring new clients to my store front. So I guess I should really be asking about local seo.

Anything with at least 500$ per month, I can work. 100$ is too low for me don't know about others, should be low for them too.

SEO is ever more costly.... When done well, proper promotion takes time, skill and much care or you'll get a site penalized for 3 to 6 months, not to say permanently banned....

So to hire someone to do this for you for $100 sounds a bit low to me. Think about it this way: would you invest time and resources for a MONTH and have tons of responsibility on your shoulders for $100?

$125 - $250/Keyword minimum depending on the comp. If it's high comp, then the price will obviously go up because more unique articles need to be created for backlink purposes.

If you want to talk, just PM me or add me on Skype.

First, you need to put on the paper what you need (On-site SEO, off-site SEO, how many KWs. Which KWs, where do you wanna rank, which SE you wanna rank, do you want to spy on competition...).

Once you do that then put on the paper what you need for each of these.

Example, for on-site SEO you say that you need:

    1. Product description
    2. Image optimization
    3. home page SEO (meta, title, optimized content...)
    4. Site structure
    5. Geo targeting etc etc..

After that you put on the paper what you need for off-page SEO...and so on and so on..

If you don't know what you want, ask your provider what will he do for the budget asked, let him put everything on paper.

If someone trow you a random number ( no matter low or high) this means that they will do the same "SEO" job for you that they are doing for every body else, which is kinda not possible. Every site needs personal approach (imo).

On the other side, if you think that someone serious will bring you new clients at $100/month....you must be a client to avoid.

What happened to you today ? Giving out serious answers !

I was just going to say that anyone who throws a figure at you without examining your business is best avoided.

I would have thought a professional won't answer an email for $100 but if you are clever and have a target plan of what you want to achieve you can accomplish a lot by yourself.

I agree w/ the others... $100 a month sounds great starting place... I also see it as average cost for startup sites $99-$150/mo

It's going to be based on your niche as well as keyword competition.

If your keywords has very low or no competition then the $100 will help you
attain a higher spot for your respective keywords otherwise you should be
paying thousands for quality SEO after all this updates.

Most people looking at $45 to $150 SEO aren't into real business that can make them good
    money over the long term.

    Definitely more than $100.

Nowadays you need unique content for everything and that costs hell lot of money. The more diversity you target the better the result.
Don't ask for $100 cheap SEO. It will harm your website more than doing good to your business.

I would have to say that $100 is on the low side. You get what you pay for and if you want quality work, then SEO is not something that you should be skimping on!

$50-150/mo for SEO? How many hours do you expect them to work? If they value their time at $25/hr, which is low, you expect them to work 2-6 hours a month on your site?

I think you are kidding. $100 is never a price of SEO for any site. No matter the site is new or old. This kind of work only done by those who hire fiverr guy and if you doing work with fiverr gigs than I guess you only get spam nothing else with just $5.

$100 seo for a business oriented site means he will buy 1 or at most 2 fiver gigs for you.

For a local customer in a low competition vertical, I start at $300 a month, which gets equivalent of 10 hours of work per site per month. I am the cheapest SEOist I know of, and I do NOT use gigs from fiverr or anywhere. If someone comes in lower than that, I wish them the best of luck, I have cut my price to the bone.

This is straight local SEO, on-page, citations, social, and some selective backlinking, obviously based on research I do myself.

That is the lowest I will accept a customer at, and that is someone with a low value per customer and a fairly non competitive business vertical.

I also offer a service that provides a local (only) SEO pan of action each month for $150. This service provides you with reports and a plan to implement each month. Each month I evaluate what you have done and create a new plan for he next month.

This is only a plan of action, and you must do the work to implement the plan. I create the plan, you follow it and do the work you want to, then I re-evaluate your site for the next month, and provide a new plan each month.

I fully explain the tasks you need to do, and have a ala carte plan for the services you do not know how to do, or do not want to do your self.

In other words I provide the plan, you do what you can, I do what you can't or don't want to on a per item basis for a fee.
