100,000 targeted facebook fans from yahoo groups $

hmmm ok i think i have found what JOE_MILLIONAIRE was talking about with "1 click".
Go to your yahoo e-mail and then:
 • Select Options | Mail Options in Yahoo! Mail.
 • Go to the General category.
 • Make sure Automatically add new recipients to my Contacts is checked.
 • Click Save Changes.
 • Now click Back to Mail.

and that's it. now wait to see if when you get mailed people get into your contacts immediately

edit: my mistake, this only seems to work to the messages that you SEND
If you are only using the account fr this purpose, then set your 'holiday' to send out message to them when they email you. This should then add them to your contacts list. Maybe?

can you just connect your yahoo email address to outlook?

It is possible to setup Outlook Express to access mail on Yahoo ,but As of march 2004 POP3 access and forwarding is a premium service only.

the vacation messages not add them to contacts (I have tried to do that but no way)

I'm thinking about it, the only problem is that idk if you can import XXXX or even XXXXX emails without getting banned?

I mean...

Are you sure FB will really e-mail all those contacts ? I have got several accounts banned because I was "spamming" via this method aka uploading contact files, sending invites to fanpages.

brilliant idea. have you tried it ?

Oh and by the way you can connect using YPOP's it's a program that does that, but i need a program that is not outlook to do this if anyone knows please let me know.
i use my outlook for professional daily use, i dont want to mix it with this kind of e-mail accounts

I guess you are going after moderated only groups.... because if not, you'd get a lot of junk emails I would think.

how/why do you get emails into your yahoo inbox from the people in the group? i dont understand this part...

Everytime someone in the group sends out an email wheather it be a question or just informing the group about it you are emailed. This also happens whenever someone responds to this email. You can also just go to the group page and see everyone's yahoo handles. For example if you see Johnsmith10 then you just add yahoo to it and there is your email.

Hi,

It sounds really great. I will try this. But is there anyone else who get benefited from this strategy.

The method that I have found doesn't work! (...) But I have just finished searching for another solution and I have tried it

It should be easy! Simple app that connects to Yahoo mail and extracts emails... Keep this thread updated!

Simply connect your gmail account with yahoo, then you can extract the emails using thunderbird 3.1 and the add on "email address crawler".

Getting the emails is one thing, but will they actually work? If I invite 5,000 people how many are really going to join a random fan page?

I'm sure scraping the emails part is probably the easiest part to get around. If I wanted to I could probably also lease a targeted email list from some sort of niche site. I'm wondering how effective this is at the end of the day.

I have tried this same method once with a targeted email list of about 30,000 emails once, and I think the response rate was something like .001. I think we maybe got 30 people off of that emailing. By the time you factored in the cost of leasing the email list, it was actually 10X cheaper to use Facebook ads.

So, maybe if you get 1,000,000 email accounts, this method could be effective, but I think you'll then have the problem of: 1. you can't input that many emails in a "share this page" box. 2. If you send out invites directly, then you have to deal with the legal issues and costs of sending out a million emails... You also greatly increase your exposure to getting your page banned.

Unfortunately the only ways I can think of building fans is to buy them here, use advertising, or do some PR and a contest. Those are the only ways I think fan building is effective, everything else seems to have a point of failure which doesn't make it worth it.

That being said, If someone can do the emails/invites, I can scrape emails from any account. I just struggle with getting the emails out, and I'm wondering how effective this will actually be...
