10 Reasons Why Google Webmaster Forums Are Useless

Visited a long time ago asking why my site wasn't ranking, it had a Panda penalty which I didn't find out until later. The name of my domain was called "WarmUpSet", and I had reviews on exercise equipment. Had a self righteous cunt, a top contributor, tell me that since my site wasn't specifically about work out tips and because I didn't offer any unique perspective that they couldn't find by looking through amazon reviews that I deserved the penalty. I actually spent a month writing content about how to properly warm up, probably like 20 articles, obviously it did nothing for me.

Made me a very sad noobie, but thankfully experiences like that drove me to find this place.

Guys, I have a few (around 10) sites but I don't have a GW account. And I'm happy with it. Many better services are available. :)

Jesus!!! I pity any newbie reading that sh*te. Must be so confusing, worse than the WF. I remember reading the WF and being confused as hell

I don't consider myself a newbie and it still confuses the shit out of me...

Yes its incredibly sadning to see these legit businesses that just trusted some SEO guy and he bought 2 million liks for them get hammered by penguin. :(

I mean many people here do in a way deserve it, because if we buy or build links we know the risk...
...but these mom and pop businesses didn't know and get punished just as hard.

And then seeing those sleazy SEOs jumping on them to charge them another 10k for sneak oil disavowing... sad.
It's incredibly easy to rip off small business owners with SEO work since most of them do not understand it. However, I would never do that since providing high quality work means that I am more like to be referred to more clients and get more work (I only need to work with 4 clients at a time to maintain decent income). Besides, if the website does well, you can always point clients to that website so that they can see an example of your work.

The Google Webmaster Forum looks like the Bible Belt of the Internet; the people there seem hardcore white hat. I was reading a few posts there and whenever someone even seemed like they were engaging in "black hat behaviour" they were being damned to the Google sandbox immediately.

I feel you bro... these top contributors there are a real canncer.

Most of them dont even have a real site, which is why they got time to spend on the forums I presume.

Their answers are really a whole bunch of text and no content... they just write 40 sentences on how it it far too complex for you to even understand, while an actual SEO would just look at the date of the penalty and would answer with the Words "Panda 2.x here is a link".

I am sure it serves purposes at one degree or another, from different perspectives and interests too.
