- 90% of People visiting it are looking for Answers and dont have any Experience or Knowledge
- The ones that do post (top contributers) are SEOs looking for Customers and are saying generic things, such as: " You never know what hit you, there are over 600 algorithm updates... blabla... this is faar too complicated for you peasant.. plz give me money to do nothing."
- These SEOs dont even rank their own sites (They are so selfless, as to rather help others rank, than ranking their own stuff) Seriously I have done research on over 20 top contributers there and most of them got a website with alexa rank 1 Million + and ranking for local SEO or similar
- Google Enployees almost never visit (you see them once every month or so)
- Even obvious problems, such as Ranking drops on clear Penguin/Panda dates sometimes dont get any answers or the generic "you never know... blabla..."
- It seems that NOONE on that forum has any experience with sites above 100/visits per day, ranking for 3 keyword. So if you run a legit big site, dont even bother.
- Most of the people there will not even admit that Negative SEO is being done. (Because they got websites with 50 visitors/day and their website is not even close to important enough to do negative SEO.
- Its just a bunch of SEOs that have no real experiece what so ever fighting for customers, trying to give the most legit-seeming, most confusing and generic answer to lure in customers.

Im out of reasons...
...if you got more, please write them down below and I might add them later :D

Overall: GWF is bullcrapp.

Webmaster forums are for good little children in White Hat Fairyworld who are terrified of upsetting the Google monster.

In all seriousness though it's usually useless for providing real, unadulterated answers.

GWF is a place composed by utterly shit people

majority of them have 0 idea about what is having a website means

So, what you're saying is Google Webmaster Forums the the complete equivalent of blackhat community, starring Charles Floate.

Sometimes i do, just for the lolz :D

Ranting about being #170ish while trying to be "whitehat" and not building links. Ranting about pages with no content ranking above them xD Ranting about not being able to rank above newegg, amazon and other authority sites xD

It's like reading SEO stuff from WF or DP :D

Do you know what other forum is useless? The Wordpress forums. Everyone there gives the same advice to every problem ("have you tried disabling your plugins and enabling them 1 by 1"?) and then they mark the question as "Solved" even after the person says that it didn't work. I mean, every forum has an issue with useless advice (yes, even this one at times), but the Wordpress forums take it to a whole new level. At least on Black Hat World there will always be one person who gives you a good answer each time.

There are quite a few funny posts on that forum! :D

Links are a joke.~ Matt Storms
few are as educated in SEO as me~Volvox777
And my favourite quote:
If you build links, participate in link schemes, link farms or anything trying to manipulate traffic to your site that is not natural then that is a scheme and any site participating in such should be hammered so hard they are never found in Google search for any term except their own domain. ~Matt Storms giving an irrelevant answer

The blind leading the blind...

As a working SEO, I feel this pain; SO many small business people trying to understand what the hell is going on with their rankings. And there is always an expectation that there MUST be a 'fair' answer to their problem. It's a long uphill battle for them to realise that Google provides no real recourse. 99% of the time, you just have to get up, dust yourself off, learn from it, and move on...

Well, there is usually an explanation for the reason they are not ranking well, but there are just too many causes to sort through. You can have a nice website that isn't ranking well for so many reasons (poor internal linking, not targeting keywords, high OBL, high keyword density, negative SEO, too much competition, low-quality backlinks, not enough content, manual penalties, algorithmic penalties, use of "money keywords" in anchor text, not enough backlinks to compete, not enough content, and black hats manipulating the search engine just to name a few) that it can inundating to those small business owners. Even when they think they're doing things "right", they still might be doing it wrong according to Google's guidelines.

Yes its incredibly sadning to see these legit businesses that just trusted some SEO guy and he bought 2 million liks for them get hammered by penguin. :(

I mean many people here do in a way deserve it, because if we buy or build links we know the risk...
...but these mom and pop businesses didn't know and get punished just as hard.

And then seeing those sleazy SEOs jumping on them to charge them another 10k for sneak oil disavowing... sad.

really never visit GWF, its a big waste of time. time is better spent on BHW and few SEO blogs rather than trying to speculate on GWF.

I dont completely agree...

...I've seen some very interesting cases.

For example (cant link to it... because dah I answered there), but there was a guy whos website gio picked up by one of those "fake designer clothes link bots" (not sure what software) and that bot built totally topically unrelated links to his site and it got hit by Penguin 3.0.

Which proves how incredibly bad google is at detecting negative SEO. I mean the links literally said "buy designer watch" and pointed to a dentist site.

However

still completely useless if you need HALP^^
