It sounds strange that amazon did that. Anyhow they were polite after all.

OK - So an update
Amazon just replied > Dear Associate,
Thank you for agreeing to transfer the ******-****.COM, ******************.US, ****************.COM, ******-******-***.COM, ****************.ORG, ******-****.NET, *****-****.ORG, AND ***************.COM domains to Amazon.com. We'll have our domain administrator contact you soon regarding transfer instructions.
We value our relationship and appreciate your cooperation and prompt attention to this matter. If you have any questions or wish to discuss the matter, please use the Contact Us form available on Associates Central.

I don't get the praise for amazon. They are taking your domains that you would be using to promote them and make sales. Instead they are taking the domains from you.
I had this happen to me, zynga sent me a c&d for some domain claiming im infringing on copyright when there were about 100 other sites doing the same thing.
Their so called "Lawyer" told me I had to give them the domain ASAP for nothing. I told him i'm not just going to give you the domain for nothing, I paid for this domain out of my pocket and you want to just take it?
Then i proceeded to give him 25 links of other websites that are similar and told him when you shut their websites down and take their domains then you can come talk to me about mine.
If you want you can sue me, take me to court, present your evidence all because of a $10 domain. Then I told him if you want, i'll offer to sell the domain to zynga for $5k if they really really want the domain from me.
After all was said and done, i still have the domain and zynga hasn't done anything about my site or the others i linked him to.

Most big companies are being asholes when you get a domain that has their trademarked on it and they try to shut you down and get it for free (like I would have if I had a trademark and you used it to steal my traffic). They are being good by not threatening you (to give it for free) or worst suing you for trademark violation!
