    Hello all,
I'm sure this is in the wrong place. This is my 1st time actually posting a new thread. I would love if someone with success and knowledge could take a look at my site (my 1st site following Google Slicer walk through). I have had a little over 1,300 visitors and not a single penny made yet. I would appreciate some feedback. What am I doing wrong or what's missing?
    My site is at http*://istopsmokingaids.com
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

I think for stop smoking kits is going be typically hard to sell using a blog, if you want to promote stop smoking kits consider creating a page where you can gather their contact information by offering some sort of incentive, make that page simple. If you have seen any of the CPA offers, their page is very simple and strait to the point, some of thme converts like crazy. Once you get their contact details you can contact them with subsequent email offers.

Basically no one will read a page to buy something unless he is researching or comparing something, so by grabbing their email you can pre sell them as many times as you like, unless they choose to opt-out.

    just 2 cents.

Thank you for your advice. I think I am starting see exactly what you mean. I'm now at a little over 4,000 visitors, with 1,700 unique and 707 returned visitors and still not a single sale. I'm thinking of changing this whole thing to the steps in the "Instant Payday Formula" instead. Just like you said, get their info so I can contact them with just a basic squeeze page setup.

I would break up your paragraphs and add some structure. Show some pictures of the product and what they get with the trial. I think you need to edit your content. I saw all the words pushed into one big paragraph and got confused myself.

Hello and thank you for your help.
I have done some major thinking on this whole thing and realize you guys are right. The structure is too jammed packed and confusing. I think it offers too much "by the way" info and not enough solution type content. The visitors aren't targeted at all. I wouldn't have any visitors if it weren't for the fact I purchased a 10,000 traffic pack from one of the members here. So they come from everywhere. Another error I guess.
    Thanks again for your help.

what's your google rank? how many visitors from google? any? also change the template, it's too agressive, people that want to know about smoking and aids are frightened. You have to comfort them and save them. write it as you are the only good source on the net and gain their trust if you want to convert

I just checked, you have like 11 backlinks. Promote it a bit, social submit, press releases, article submit, blog commenting, forum commenting.
And if the domain is new, give it a couple of weeks (2) to get indexed. I rushed with mine and tought something was wrong (sandboxed) when it just needs time to index and index the backlinks :)

    best of luck

    Home Page:
"sign up now and receive a free gift" is wayyy too vague

and there's no way to close the popup, so that kinda just forces people to leave

Are you trying to sell general smoking aid products or one specificly? i would agree with flyingcows, make a short but sweet one colomn landing page where they can enter their email and recieve information about the product(s). incentives for doing so are also good. You can also put a link on your landing page to your website, something like, "if you want to read more about these product(s) go to <your website>".

besides that, i think other people have said it, make sure your traffic is as targeted as possible, and that popup being unable to close turns people away. take 5-10 minutes and just brainstorm ideas...

    hope this helps.

That traffic will never convert no matter how amazing your page is. It's not meant to. The traffic you buy from members here is meant for things other than sales.

    This is huge!!
I could not close the pop up... so... I closed the tab...
Make it optional AND DEFINITELY make a more direct call to action for the incentive to opt in..

like wyomble said here, it doesn't matter how much traffic you buy. The traffic most people sell are either bot hits (bot nets and other programs) or traffic redirected from other domains. #1 key to getting sales = getting target audience.

    A quick side success story..

I've been at SEO for 3 monthes and I have been helping my uncle with his company. His niche is photography (city name + photography keyword) and through this keyword I was able to find him a customer who needs wedding photography. I've only been working for a month and I'm not even #1 on any of the keywords, yet we already got an interested client. My point is... you must target customers via there own interests. I targeted people that wanted photography in the city my uncle works in, and bam we got a call saying he found us from google. Now I get a bonus :)

Can you share how did you have your optin box appear when someone visit your site.
I also want to capture visitors email address using the way you used it?Are you using Aweber?

Drop the opt in and make your content so you have headline content and then 'read more' .. in order for them to read more, they will need to register with the site. Have an option to receive your special free reports on ways to quit for good. Get people signing up to your list and then start selling to them via auto responder.

Your site looks like a big blaring spam site. That popover that you cannot close is not doing anybody any favors, including your conversions.

Yeah, the popup is definitely a turn off, if I were you, I'd put a delay of at least 30 seconds before it appears, get people interested first if you have quality content (and you should). Plus, if your main point is to gather visitors emails, do only that. Don't include any sidebars and definitely lose things like the calendar and donate via Paypal (who would, anyway, you're not the red cross, people have no idea who you are and they didn't quit smoking with your help). The point is, less noise on the page, more attention your optin box gets.
