000webhost offers free/paid, the paid comes with a lot of features. Just wondering if anyone has gone with them and was satisfied.

Their paid hosting is hosting 24. Check out some reviews, it makes for some interesting reading.
Their free hosting sucks as others said and apparently so does their premium hosting. I have a free account with them which I use purely for testing sites and scripts.

I used to use them for their free hosting a LOT years ago. TBH their layout, features, etc. was awful I wouldn't have paid for it. Free hosting is a great thing for scripts you don't want to have connected to yourself, just upload them and shorten the URL and good to go. There are so many quality hosts with super low prices ($2-5/month) these days though, unless you need something specific I'd stick to one of the big top 5.

The "free hosting" thing generally is just a marketing ploy to get your sites on their servers so you
would rather pay for their lousy hosting rather than switch databases. I know you will hear alot of
flack about using hostgator on the forum but its a decent start and i do believe they have a penny
hosting promotion going on right now.

So true! Once your database size gets somewhere around 100mb ( which it won't eventually reach because those shitty limitations), you will feel the real difference.
Hosting is not judged by it's feature, rather judged by the uptime and the request / sec limit (both db and the server) that it can handle. I would rather buy a clean unmanaged VPS and install all the software on earth that I need. I am not blaming a particular free hosting, but they all are bullshit.

I've been a proud customer of HostGator for years now. 100% pleased so far.
- Super cheap
- Unlimited space
- Unlimited bandwidth
- unlimited domains with most packages
Please don't use a free web host even if you're just starting out. It's the definition of cheap and is only going to make your journey much longer. If you're serious about making money you can spare $5 (one coffee at Starbucks) a month. I've heard great things about Bluehost and GoDaddy too, though I think GoDaddy is WAY overpriced for what they offer.

^^ Godaddy ( atleast the Indian version) is cheaper than hostgator. You can also apply a 32% overall discount with available coupons which will make it even cheaper. Godaddy has totally impressed me this time around ( which was not the case previously. I left it because of shitty server blocks to certain IP ranges).

No problems so far for me with hostwinds, there are discount codes for them as well on this site if you take a look.
$5.50 a month for unlimited is a decent price anyway.

I've used it for exactly what it is, a free service.
There's no such thing as free lunch and if you do manage to get one don't expect it not to come with strings attached.
I think it is better to go with Hostgator, it is good.
