I am also using Market Samurai and i really like it. It is a one-time-payment and for starting with keywordresearch activities it is a good tool in my opinion.

I always try to write 3-5 posts without outgoing links on every domain in a pbn. Then if i do a pbn post, i link to my moneysite and i also link to a different site (the content of this site should be relevant to my moneysite). I also add pages like privacy policy, about me page, fb fanpages...

If the blog is moderated and it is not spamed to death, i always like to do blog comments. In my case it is only for diversity of my links and i am always commenting with my real name if it is for my money site. For Tier 1 i think you can also spam blog comments.
