    Manipulating Google map listing

No - not actually looking at that industry. Took the advice above and changed the search term

    Manipulating Google map listing

Have certainly done that - the example above is not our actual one. Purely an example of a similar hypothetical scenario.

    Manipulating Google map listing

No issues with all the above. Have an active G+ account, very active with lots of reviews. I may not be all that clear. Probably because I removed the specifics above. As an example though.. Say I run Bob's flowers in Melbourne. A competitor is Tim's Flowers. We are close to each other...

    Manipulating Google map listing

Hi all, Need a bit of help understanding a weird thing that I am competing with. I have a website that ranks well under the a location based search. An example would be "florist melbourne" Historically we have done very well as we rank well on the map search. Somehow a competitor has been...

    Cheating Google Maps

Honestly I would prefer to be competing on a level playing field with the map showing. On that current display we loose all the advantage we have of having the most positive reviews (genuine) in the industry. To me it seems like a massive manipulation of the process.

    Cheating Google Maps

I would be surprised if this wasn't deliberate. Our industry is pretty aggressive online. The guy who is claiming to have done this has been doing their seo for a while and is claiming credit for this so pretty sure he has done something to swing this. My guess is that he has registered a...

    Cheating Google Maps

So what have they done? We have lost all placement on google maps because the search term seems to have lost the geo component. He is claiming it as an seo win after the change so at least he thinks that it is something he did. lol

    Cheating Google Maps

Hi all. One of our competitors have pulled an interesting move. They have effectively twisted google maps for "paintball melbourne" to only show their result. It is not even their field location. Just an office they use for storage mainly. We used to get a result that showed all the paintball...

Using expiring domains do build backlinks.

Thanks all - some great feedback. Looking at the PBN side of things. Might be a good option. As far as All I would be looking at is identical businesses to mine in different locations that drop a domain for whatever reason. Cheers and thanks for the advice

Using expiring domains do build backlinks.

I understand the contextual element. I would only be using domains from the same niche industry. As an example if I ran a gocarting business in Australia (not the case) and I forwarded an expired domain from a gocarting place in the USA with strong backlinking and domain age would that up my PR?

Using expiring domains do build backlinks.

Hi all, My understanding is that if you forward a website to your new one the backlinking benefits are forwarded on. If a website with a good PR score is set to expire and I manage to acquire and forward it to my existing site - is there going to be a solid benefit to my PR and SEO as a...

    Has Google won?

So to clarify on the top point there, If I am an active member of a forum that is industry related and have links as part of my signature - Google are likely to frown on it?

    Has Google won?

Wow. Seems I Pissed a few people off with the question. We are doing ok - I just see websites ranking above us with lower quality sites and using techniques that I keep reading google have cottoned on to. Link wheel and duplicate content is a classic example. I used to be a member of the...

    Has Google won?

I will admit I am new here - certainly not saying that I have the answers. Just trying to learn whether there are any "non-approved" methods. I didnt join to ask that question - I joined to learn about what link building methods circumvent googles algorithms. Many people in my industry use link...

    Has Google won?

I must admit that I am a little disappointed with a few of the posts on this blog on a whole. For a black hat forum there seems to be an awful lot of "build quality content" and "natural linking" There seems to be less ways to circumvent google's master plan. Has Google one or what is the...
