Few years ago I have taught my girlfriend how to work online so she would be able to help me in some ways. Now she is my wife and we are doing all the work together. I quite like it :) However she was never annoying about my online job maybe because I was balancing it with a real life.

Nowadays you have to build authority websites with more than few pages. That's why I would say take a broader term as your main keyword and target less competitive ones with inner pages.

I would say that it's competitive because of those holiday websites in the top. I can hardly imagine you outranking Expedia, Tripadvisor and others. You can get into the lower part of top 10 though.
