I would try to highjack their highest PR links if you're doing it manually. And check how much social marketing they have, if they're neglecting use of social signals and traffic growth for their ranking strategy then you will have an advantage in the long term.

you could probably automate it depending on the niche using scrapebox, unless you want perfect results. then again you could do something similar to what you want with the scrapebox manual poster
