Greetings, been a long time since I visited here but i have a question
Faithfully I have been paying for hostgators dedicated service. The basic 174 a month server. Uptime and reliability is great but their customer support is just disgusting. I recently contacted them for a backup service. Something other than on the server or local. Even if it was a paid service I was willing to opt in.
They have no such service and instead referred me to a 3rd party which is expensive as all hell but provides an awesome and quality backup service. It was an awesome referral.
Stating that I went back to hostgator and requested a free month and discount on the following month to offset the cost of the 3rd party service which they....well i want to say promptly denied but it took 45 mins of chat headache to get an answer. I was transferred and answered within 30 seconds. A big fat no. I am a 3 year dedicated customer without billing issues!
They did offer me 50% off this billing cycle instead. I denied that and paid my 174$, signed up to the backup service they referred me too and i am currently looking for reliable hosting elsewhere.
The service I pay for has the following specs:
Intel Xeon Dual Core 2.3GHz (4 threads)
100 Mbps Uplink
4 GB RAM
500 GB RAID-1 Drives
10 TB Bandwidth
2 Dedicated IPs
I would probably want better processors but is there a cheaper and reliable provider someone can recommend?
