Anybody still bothering with GBP posts?

Google Business Profile posts do not rank you directly, but they keep the profile active and give you more space to show offers. One post a week is enough.

I still use GBP posts, but more for conversion than rankings. They’re useful for offers, updates, and trust when someone checks the profile, even if they don’t move map positions much.
Yep same here. Conversions are equally important as well.

On sharifawan's question of where you would observe it: the only place I have found is the profile's own Performance report, calls, website clicks and direction requests, downloaded monthly so you have a series to compare.

The map pack is the wrong instrument. Posts never appear in the pack itself; they show on the profile after someone has already landed on it. So I post for the clients I manage as a conversion asset and judge it on whether profile actions move month to month, not on rank. One market I checked recently had the pack leader posting most weekdays, but it also had the only real pin in that city, so I read nothing into the posting.

But Neil Patel told me to post once a week for 10 years to really see good results.

Honestly, I've had a similar impression. Reviews and a fully optimized profile seem to make a much bigger difference. Posts might help with keeping the profile active, but I wouldn't expect them to have a major impact on rankings. I'd rather spend more time getting genuine reviews and keeping the business information up to date.
