I agree, it depends on the topic. Some articles need only 800 words, while others need more. I don't think adding extra words just for SEO helps. Do you check other articles on Google before deciding how long to write?

I don’t think word count makes a page rank. and make sure your content adds real value instead of just adding words.

Article length depends entirely on search intent and competitor benchmarks, write only as much as needed to thoroughly satisfy the query without fluff.

I think that the word count is not so important the relevance of the article should be taken into account For some keywords the 800 word essay may rank well but if more details are required it will be too short

It does not depend on the article length the best typ of article is one that is unique and informative and the article should not be so long that the readr skip it i think 1500 to 1800 words enough for an article.
