Hi,
I am working on a new website and I want to know that which site architecture mistake causes the most SEO problems. What should be the right site architecture which help to engage viewer with the site.

I think the worst mistake is burying pages too deep. If it takes a user (or a Google crawler) more than 3 clicks from the homepage to reach an article, it basically becomes an orphan page and gets ignored.

The easiest fix is keeping a flat structure. Just group your posts into simple, tight categories (silos) and make sure to interlink them. It keeps navigation super clean and makes sure your link juice actually flows to the deeper pages.

A poorly constructe website will affect crawling as well as seo rankings. one must remember that important pages should be accessible in 2 or 3 clicks from the homepage, content must be categorized according to topics, a breadcrumb path should be established, and good internal links must be created.

Overcomplicating the site architecture is usually where problems start A simple structure with clear categories logical navigation and easy access to key pages tends to work best for both SEO and user experience

Content does not have to be wordy to receive top rankings for its sites search engine results page. short articles that provide comprehensive coverage of the information sought by the seeker win against long-winded writing.

One mistake I see all the time is hiding important pages too far down your site. If your visitors and search engines have to click around to find the pages that matter, you’re hurting your engagement and your rankings.

One of the biggest mistakes is creating a site that's too deep, where important pages take many clicks to reach. Keep your structure simple and logical, group related content together, and use strong internal linking so both users and search engines can navigate easily.

The biggest SEO issue is a messy, deep site structure where important pages are buried too many clicks away or poorly linked. A good architecture is simple and hierarchical clear categories, internal linking between related pages and important content reachable within a few clicks to improve both SEO and user engagement.

Poor internal linking and deep page structures cause many SEO problems Keep navigation simple so users find content easily

Overcomplicated category structures create more problems than people realize. Simplicity often works better.

Bad internal linking is the one that causes the most problems in my opinion.

poor planning right from the start will definitely creatte problems later on, particularly if additional pages are going to be created without having any specific position on the website. imo i would first of all identify the main subjects nd then ensure that all pages of relevance have a proper connection starting from the homepage.

orphan pages and a messy deep structure are the biggest ones imo. if important pages are buried 4-5 clicks deep or nothing links to them, google barely crawls them. keep it flat, clear categories, and every page reachable within 3 clicks from the homepage

For me, poor internal linking is one of the biggest issues. Important pages can get buried, making it harder for search engines to discover and understand them.

i’d avoid making important pages too deep creating overlapping categories or leaving pages without relevant internal links as these can make crawling and navigation harder a simple structure with clear categories logical URLs breadcrumbs and useful internal links usually works well for both visitors and search engines

Deep navigation depth and orphan pages. If important pages are buried more than 3-4 clicks away from the homepage without proper category silos, googlebot will either crawl them rarely or miss them completely.

one common mistake making users click through too many levels just to find a page.keep main categories clear and make sure related pages link to each other so visitors and search engines can understand how everything fits together.

Faceted navigation with open parameter filters it creates endless duplicate URLs and traps google bot in a crawl loop, completely burning your budget while your main category pages sit uncrawled.

I keep the site structure simple. Put related pages in the same category and link them together where it makes sense. Visitors should be able to find what they need easily.
