Protect Team Browser Profiles from Extension Tampering
Your team needs browser extensions, but not everyone should be able to modify them. With extension encryption and tamper protection enabled, Profile access is blocked if extension code tampering is detected.
How Does Extension Tamper Protection Work?
With DICloak, admins can enforce extension security rules through Profile access controls:
• Detect Extension Tampering: If extension code tampering is detected when a member opens a Profile, access is blocked and an abnormal-extension warning appears.
• Restrict Extension Changes: Enabling this protection also prevents members from managing or removing extensions, installing extensions locally, and accessing the Chrome Web Store or extension settings.
• Disable Developer Tools: Browser developer tools are also disabled to further restrict changes to the browser profile.
Why Does This Matter for Teams?
• Protect Shared Profile Security: Prevent members from opening Profiles when extension code tampering is detected, reducing the risk of working in a modified browser environment.
• Maintain Consistent Team Setups: Keep extension configurations under admin control when multiple members manage the same store or client Profiles.
• Simplify Troubleshooting: When a Profile is blocked, the warning identifies abnormal extensions, helping admins pinpoint what to check instead of investigating every extension.
How to Enable It?
1. Choose either entry point:
• Global Settings → Browser Settings: Enable Enable extension encryption and prevent tampering.
• Extensions: Click the Security protection disabled button.
2. Review the security restrictions and choose whether to exclude team super admins.
3. Click
Confirm Enable to activate the protection.
Note: Extension encryption and tamper protection require DICloak V2.6.18 or later to take effect for all members.
