I would like to know what works best for you and which of these you focus on more. I am mainly focused on CTR and try on every video to make good thumbnails but people are not watching more than 2 minutes. Any tips?

I’d focus more on retention if they’re already clicking. A good thumbnail can get the click, but if people leave after 2 mins, maybe the intro is too slow. Try getting into the actual content quicker and see if the drop-off improves.

CTR gets people to click, but retention keeps them watching. Since you are already getting clicks, I would focus more on making the first few minutes more interesting and getting to the main point faster.

High CTR gets the click, but watch time is what actually forces YouTube to promote your video.

if people click but leave after 2 mins, id focus less on thumbnails and more on the first 30 seconds, make the intro faster and get straight to the point.

If viewers click on your video, it means your thumbnail was engaging. however, if they leave after just two minutes, you need to re-examine the video "hook." It might be too rambling or completely unrelated to the thumbnail and title, causing viewers to drop off. Focus on creating compelling content and ensuring the hook is captivating.

It's obvious brother that you need to work in retention people are not showing interest in your videos but they initially wants to click it.

You are doing something wrong as they don't stay and keep watching.
