What would you do differently if you had to grow your first website again?

would of started the buffer sites on day 1 instead of month 8. spent the first year trying to get links to the money site direct and got nowhere, once i had 3 buffers with there own age and content everything moved. also would of ignored the quality over quantity crowd sooner lol

I would keep the site simple and focus on useful content. I would plan things better from the start and avoid trying too many things at once. I would also be patient and give the site time to grow.

I would not have given up on trying to make the site grow earlier. i should have focused on a tight group of topics, got a few pages to ranks and built from there.

Stop chasing endless tweaks. Focus on the things that truly bring in traffic and revenue. Build fewer sites, but put more effort into each one. Then scale the parts that work.

I’d spend less time trying to perfect everything from the start I think getting a few things live seeing what actually brings results and then improving from there saves a lot of time

start with basics and try different topics see what gets real traffic and engagement.then focus more on the things that actually work

I would validate search demand and monetization before scaling content, then focus resources on pages already showing impressions instead of publishing endlessly.

If I were to start entirely over, I would stop overanalyzing every minor technical detail and instead focus immediately on building content pipelines.

i'd set up proper conversion tracking from day one.

on my first sites i cared way too much about traffic and rankings without knowing which pages actually produced leads/sales. you can spend months growing traffic that looks good in analytics but does almost nothing for the business.

now i'd rather have 20 pages where i know exactly what converts than 200 pages getting random traffic.

I just started a new one, I was hesitant but I liked the idea of taking 20 years of learning and starting fresh. I'll make sure it's fun so I don't get too bummed if it fails

I'm doing a lot different. First I'm going deep into AI, I'm focusing more on a free decent version that's safe then starting a paid plan, I'm leaning on some other services that are simply better at what they do than I am. CDN type stuff. And I'm keeping customer support hands on, no AI for that, I see people already getting tired of AI bots and FAQ loops fast!

If I started a website from scratch again - here is what I would do.

Step 1 - I will first try to understand if there is "a unique problem" that I can solve with my website. If that is not possible with my niche, then I will just check what top competitors are doing, and I will blatantly copy them.

Honestly, copying your top competitors bit by bit has served me well so many times that I have lost count.

Step 2 - I will plan content on my website, and I will plan all content mainly according to readers first, and later according to SEO.

Step 3 - Any keyword on which I want to rank, I will try to rape that keyword. I will find every single long-tail keyword that exists for that keyword, and that will allow me to write different articles with "a unique title."

If you have 5 articles covering one keyword in depth, then usually such topical authority always works for me.

Step 4 - I will publish like 20 articles on my website. Without that, I will not touch backlinks.

Step 5 - Once my website is ready, I will spend 1-2 hours daily on the internet and try to build backlinks myself for my website. I will do forum comments, comments, Reddit, Quora, social media,all these myself for my website.

So far, everything written till here has produced some ranking for my website, and beyond that, I will just continue adding with more content on my website and more guest posts for my website per month. I would do content and guest posts for like 6 months without losing my mind.

IMP - I have seen that, no matter what I do, I can never make ROI from my website before 6 months' time, so I will tell myself, "Son, this is gonna take 6 months" (and that's the best case).

If I were starting over, I would create a clear plan for the content I post each day. I would also be more careful and cautious with my backlink-building strategy.

W'll I set my niche related category Again and start to marketing my website. Hope this helps more to regain my website.

I'd validate the niche first, then double down on topics showing real traction.
