one thing people miss… daily budget isn’t a hard cap, google can spend up to 2x on some days. if it’s a fixed campaign, use a total campaign budget where available so you know the max from the start
 
Google can spend 2x your daily budget on any single day. It evens out over the month, capped at 30.4x. If I was you I'd set the daily at half what you can stomach.
 
Check your search terms regularly and add irrelevant terms as negative keywords. A lot of wasted spend can come from irrelevant searches.
 
Set a budget limit for the campaign and use exact-match keywords along with negative keywords to control costs. You should also set specific time limits for your ads by scheduling them to run during certain hours of the day.
 
Set a daily budget. Add spending alerts. Check your campaigns regularly. This way small overspends do not add up.
 
yeah one thing to watch out for is search partners and display network... google opts you into those by default when you make a search campaign. they usually just waste budget on junk traffic tbh so turn them off. also check your location settings and change it to presence only, otherwise you'll get clicks from people outside your target area who just showed interest in it.

When I first started burned a lot of cash not doing this.
 
You should set a lower daily budget and reduce your bids by about 20–30% compared to Google's suggestions
 
Set a daily budget and watch which keywords actually convert.
Otherwise, Google Ads can burn through your money fast!
