The report's the only bit you can check without taking anyone's word for it, which is why we bother with it.Local citations are a useful part of local SEO, especially when the business information is submitted manually and NAP consistency is properly checked. The live-link reports are also helpful because they make it easier to verify the listings and keep track of the citations created for a business.
Worth doing even when you've got the report in front of you: open a few of the live URLs, then search the business name in that directory's own search box. If it comes back, it's properly live on their side rather than just sitting at a URL. Takes a minute and works on anyone's report, ours included.
