What has become easier in SEO over the last 5 years?

Content. nothing else even comes close.

Five years back content was the biggest cost in every campaign i ran, by a mile. You either paid writers proper money for tier pages or you spun something and prayed. Spinning is what burned people too, the spun text was the actual footprint, not the links. Everyone blamed the links.

Now a readable 1000 word article costs a fraction of a cent. That one thing quietly fixed the biggest weakness automation ever had. The exact same structures people ran in 2019 get filled with content that reads like a real site now, so they behave like one.

Other thing is automation stopped needing so much babysitting. Tools that wanted constant tweaking a few years ago mostly just run now, i check some projects weekly instead of daily.

What got harder is patience, everything indexes slower and costs more to force. But the building itself? cheapest and easiest its ever been.
The automation point is important too When a system needs less daily supervision you can spend more time on strategy instead of constantly fixing small issues.

For me, keyword research and competitor analysis have become much easier.

Tools now give far more data and SERP insights so you can spot opportunities and validate ideas much faster than 5 years ago

The hard part is still turning that data into something Google and users actually value.
The data is easier to find now but knowing which insights actually matter is where the real advantage comes in.

Just recently I decided to use claude to check my sites on monthly basis, plan my topical hierarchy content, write my content. Research has also become quite fast if you know what to ask for with different search terms till you get your answer.

for me, keyword research along with the backlink generation has changed the game in the SEO market in the last 5 years

What has become easier in SEO over the last 5 years?

SEO has changed a lot over the last five years.

Some tasks that used to take hours can now be done much faster. We have better tools, more resources to learn from, and new technologies that have changed the way many people work.

At the same time, SEO has also become more competitive. Getting results today often requires more testing, patience, and a better understanding of what actually works.

I'm curious about your experience.

What is one thing in SEO that has genuinely become easier for you over the last five years?

It could be research, content, technical SEO, link building, reporting, client work, or anything else.

What changed, and what do you think made it easier?

Looking forward to hearing different experiences.
Finding right keywords

In my opinion reporting and keyword research have become much easier collecting and organizing data used to take a lot of time but tools have made that process much faster the difficult part is still knowing which data actually matters and what to act on
