Loosing ranking on keyword that i was ranking 2nd on google.

I am in the adult niche. i have been having an issue and am not sure how to resolve it. i will rank for keyword then i disappear. after a month or so. The domain is one year. And KD is below 30. What can i do to gain authority. am trying to reach 10k user per day and currently at 3k per day.

if #2 holds true, then clearly there is ranking capability for that page. the first thing to do will be to determine what happened when this drop occurred rather than automatically assuming that more authority was needed. look at search console, indexing, internal linking, recency of content nd competting pages. often the answer will lie in what happened right before the traffic fell.
 
I’d focus on topical authority, strong internal linking, unique content, and relevant quality backlinks. Also check GSC to see why those pages drop. Avoid bulk/low-quality links and build authority consistently.
 
KD below 30 doesn’t explain why that specific URL disappeared. Compare the query in GSC across the winning and losing periods, then check whether another URL started receiving its impressions. If it did, this is more likely cannibalization or an intent change than a simple authority problem.

am suspecting this but i cant see links on my search console. not sure which tools to u to double check this
 
authority can help the site build stronger overall relevance and visibility.focus more on building topical authority strong internal links unique content and relevant quality backlinks

I have seen this happen with newer domains quite often.

If you rank for a keyword and then drop after a few weeks, kd is not the only thing to look at. I would check the quality of your backlinks, topical coverage, and internal linking against the sites that stay above you.

Since you are already getting 3k users a day, I would focus on strengthening the pages that already bring traffic instead of chasing more keywords.

Build relevant links to those pages, support them with related content, and work on making those rankings stable before pushing toward 10k.
 
Check the pages that lose rankings and compare them with the pages that replaced you. You may find gaps in content, relevance, or links.
 
SERP volatility, search intent, content depth, internal linking, and referring domains quality.

If your pages rank and then vanish after a couple of weeks, then the problem may be consistency between relevancy and authority.
 
That rank-then-vanish-after-a-month pattern on a low-KD kw screams temporary "freshness boost" fadeout, not a penalty. Google gives new-ish content a short-term rankin bump to test user signals, n if engagement doesn't hold up long-term, it demotes back down, so the fix ain't more backlinks, it's improvin on-page engagement signals to survive past that initial freshness window.

before building any further backlink for the site, I would be sure that there was no other page fighting with the same keyword to take up impresions. If there was one, I would first addres the issue of cannibalization.
 
If you rank and then drop after a few weeks, check what the pages ranking above you are doing better. Content depth, links and search intent are worth comparing.
