The latest in a long run of major updates to Domain Hunter Gatherer has arrived.

This weekend I finally released the long-awaited new DHG website.

I know a website redesign may not sound like the most exciting update, but there are some genuinely useful additions included with it.

The New TLD Codex

Our new TLD Codex contains information covering domain extensions and TLDs from around the world.

It is a useful reference when researching extensions, checking registration requirements or looking for new domain opportunities.

Compare Domain Registrar Prices

The new domain registrar comparison tool makes it quick and easy to compare registration and renewal prices for your chosen TLD.

Registrar prices can vary considerably, especially when renewal time comes around. This gives you a simple way to check where the better deals are.

Premium Domains for Sale

For years, people have contacted us asking whether we find domains for other people or have any domains available for sale.

We now have a dedicated premium domains section.

The initial selection includes:

• Short domains, including domains as short as three characters
• Pure numeric domains
• SEO domains with established authority and backlinks
• Brandable and commercially useful names

We will be adding to the list regularly, so the available stock will change often. Transactions will be completed through Afternic to provide a safe process for both sides.

The rebuilt Domain Hunter Gatherer website is here - first spotlight: the Registrar Finder​

I've rebuilt the DHG website to make the useful tools easier to find, faster to understand and more transparent about the data behind them.

There is a lot to show, so instead of squeezing every improvement into one update, I'm going to cover the main additions individually. The first is the new Registrar Finder.

Why I built it​

A low registration price does not always mean a domain will be inexpensive to own. Renewal and transfer pricing can change the picture considerably once you look beyond year one.

The Registrar Finder brings the main costs into one comparison so you can inspect the published registration, renewal and transfer rates, then compare the ownership path over 1-10 years before choosing where a domain should live.

There are three ways to use it:

• Single - compare one extension for registration or transfer and see how the cost develops over time.
• Basket - compare several extensions together, including the difference between keeping everything with one registrar and splitting the basket across providers.
• Exposure - paste in a portfolio to estimate annual renewal exposure, compare cost by extension and examine transfer break-even points. Your full domain list stays in your browser; only the extensions are used for the calculation.

The tool also shows source and freshness context for its pricing evidence. Promotional prices and affiliate relationships do not control the ordering. Registrar prices can change, so the final checkout price should always be confirmed with the registrar.

Other improvements on the new website

The redesign goes well beyond this one tool. It also includes:

• A new TLD Intelligence Console for researching extensions.
• A clearer data-sources and technology section.
• A searchable expired-domain video library.
• A reworked Domain Auction Hunter section.
• Clearer navigation, pricing information and an expanded customer testimonials section.
