Do you guys use guest post marketplaces to compare different publishers before choosing where to place a link?

I’ve been looking at a few guest post options lately, and comparing publishers manually is taking more time than I expected. Some sites have decent DR but barely any traffic, while others have lower metrics but seem much more relevant to the niche.
Curious how you guys handle this, do you use marketplaces to compare different publishers, or do you usually find and vet sites yourself?

I’ve used marketplaces a few times, mainly to compare publishers before checking them manually. Recently, I have been using SEOPul to look for websites that offer guest posts at affordable prices. Besides that, I also check the quality of those domains before making a purchase.
 
As @taylorwebb99 has said using of marketplace is one of the option for me too but i like going for refferals and recommendations more from friends and colleagues
 
I usually look beyond DR when comparing publishers Traffic topical relevance indexing and the site’s link profile give a much clearer picture of whether the placement is actually worth it

i have noticed that sometiimes the best site on paper may not necessarily be the best location. for instance it may be better to use a small site that actually has traffic and is highly relevant to the topic rather than a high DR site with no traffic at all.
 
I use marketplaces mainly to find options then I manually check the site before choosing I care more about real organic traffic topical relevance and the quality of existing links than DR alone
 
I usually vet sites myself, focusing more on relevant traffic, niche fit, and editorial quality than DR alone. Marketplaces can save time, but I’d still manually check the publisher before paying.
 
Most of the replies here are from the buyer side, which makes sense. But from the seller side, the manual vetting point is exactly what separates good inventory from bad.

The sites that perform best for buyers are usually the ones where the seller has already done the work, checked real traffic across multiple tools, confirmed indexing on recent posts, looked at whether the content is actually maintained. Marketplaces can surface options quickly, but they rarely show you that level of detail. you still have to do the manual check yourself or trust that the seller did it before listing.

The DR vs traffic gap you mentioned in the OP is one of the most common issues. high DR with no traffic usually means the domain has aged well or collected links over time but the content isn't pulling organic visits anymore. That's a site that looks good on paper and underperforms in practice.

Which marketplaces do you usually check before making a purchase. I’m also looking to explore more marketplaces to find quality guest posts. I’d like to get some additional advice from everyone.

as for using marketplaces, I usually do so only for the purpose of listing; hence, I shall have to verify it myself. the DR is vry misleading rather, I pay more attention to the traffic trend nd niche relevance.

I have used marketplace in order to search for sites but nonetheles I still do my own research before buying anything. dr is a bad metric nd should never be trusted blindly.

I usually check a few different marketplaces and then manually vet the sites before buying I don’t rely on marketplace metrics alone because traffic and niche relevance can vary a lot

you can go to marketplaces and there are lot of marketplaces that can give you quality of work because it often happens that when we choose random publishers they provide you sheet and in it we often get useless websites that have no benefit
 
I tested this by comparing ecommerce sites with publishers I found manually. Recently, I used SEOPul to create an initial shortlist. Sometimes, I just buy guest posts directly on marketplaces, which is convenient and the transaction happens quickly.
 
i generally evaluate the relevancy of the website and see if the site actually receives organic traffic rather than considering dr alone.the site that has an actual user base and offers relevant content is much more useful to me than the one with great metrics but no actual traffic at all.

I use marketplaces for shortlisting, but I still vet the publishers myself. DR is only a starting point I check real organic traffic, topical relevance, traffic trend, backlink profile, and the actual page where the link will sit
A lower-DR site with genuine niche traffic can be far more valuable than a DR 70 site
 
sometimes a site can look really strong from the metrics but still not be the best place for a link.a smaller website with real visitors and a close topic match can much more useful than some high dr domain that barely gets any traffic.

while I usually depend on marketplaces to find opportunities, I go to the sites myself. DR can fool me by itself since I am more concerned about traffic, niche match nd the activity on the site.
