Account got restricted out of nowhere, spent a day checking it before realizing it might not even be that account's fault

You have an account running fine, then out of nowhere it gets restricted. You check the creative, frequency, and landing page, but honestly, nothing stands out.

Spent most of the day on that before it hit me to check the other accounts in the same bm. one of them had gotten flagged a few days before, timing lined up close enough, figured this one probably just got dragged down with it.

Not totally sure though, meta never tells you the actual reason, it's all guessing off the timeline. reviewed the connected assets and access, then submitted the account for review. it came back two days later, but you still couldn't tell what actually fixed it.

Anyway, now if an account with no obvious issues suddenly runs into trouble, i check the rest of the bm before wasting hours on that one account.

Anyone else had this happen, one account getting caught up in something another one in the same bm did?

That’s a common issue that everyone is experiencing. Facebook occasionally goes through waves of mass account reviews, which can result in your account being restricted

Prepare backup accounts to use in case your main account faces restrictions, so your work isn't disrupted; Meta frequently imposes unexpected restrictions.

Exactly, some of Facebook's recent policies have caused accounts to get flagged even when there are no actual violations

This is a very common issue. I was also banned from chatting by Meta for a month for a completely unreasonable reason.

yeah, one dirty account can poison the whole bm, always isolate risky stuff now.

Yeah, I’ve seen this happen. If the accounts are linked, an issue with one can sometimes spill over to the others.

Actually, I get it every day.
Facebook just simply disables accounts that their AI system targets.
There's an error, so you can appeal to Meta to get your account back.

Yeah, I have seen situations where a restriction does not seem isolated to the specific ad account, especially when multiple assets share the same Business Manager, people, payment methods, domains, or pixels. Meta does not give enough detail to know exactly what triggered it, so checking the wider BM before tearing apart a campaign makes a lot of sense.

When the first account got flagged, did both accounts share the same payment method or admin access? I ask because shared access or billing can sometimes be the common link even when the ads themselves are completely different.

Also, did the second account get restricted before anyone made changes to it, or only after activity resumed? I ask because that could help distinguish an automated connection-based flag from something triggered by new account activity.

That's a common problem that everyone encounters. I've also had a similar issue with my Meta account.

You should get used to this; Facebook is currently very strict and frequently conducts such surprise reviews—it is a common occurrence.
