There is no doubt vvideo performs the best but the real question is what kind of videos ?

Create video which hook your audience from the very first second, provide some value to your audience and your audience also engages with your video actively and regularly.

If you create this type of video then congratulations !! you have cracked the content game on facebook.

I think facebook perfome really good on both imgs or videos dependiing on your seo
 
Videos certainly provide much better results than static images. Of course, always do a/b testing and don't just use one video.
 
Short videos and engaging images seem to perform best for reach. But the niche matters a lot, so I’d test a mix of formats and see what your audience actually responds to.
 
I also confirm: Reels get the best results and the fastest results. But I would also say that it depends on the niche. there are some niches that perform well on images rather than niche.
 
If you want raw viral reach, focus on vertical reels I think the algorithm prioritizes recommended video content above everything else right now
