what type of content performs best on facebook?

Different content formats seem to get different levels of engagement.

what types of posts currently perform best on facebook text, images ,videos, or links?
In my experience, short videos and Reels perform best, followed by image posts. Text posts can work well for discussions, while links usually get the lowest organic reach unless the content is highly engaging.

yeah, video is still the easiest win on fb right now, especially short native stuff and reels. images can still pull comments if the post has a strong angle, but links usually get buried unless the page already has decent engagement. text posts can work too when they start a thread... the real thing is whether people stop and interact in the first few seconds.

reels work best for reaching out when it is cold outreach and pushing someone who isn’t following you. But if you were going to try to spark discussion or group interaction, photos or posting the link in your fst comment will work much better, I think so .

From what I've seen, short-form videos and images tend to get more organic engagement than plain text or external links. That said, it really depends on the niche and audience. Videos are great for reach, while images and text can generate more comments when the topic encourages discussion. I'd test all four formats for a few weeks and compare the engagement rather than relying on a single format.

Reels bring in the highest views if you need to drop a link, post it in the comment section so reach does not drop.
