I improved technical errors like broken links and redirect problems this helped me more than small speed changes.
One techniccal fix that resulted in an unexpected boost was cleaning crawl waste. There were way many redundant links, outdated web pages, and poor internal linking structure which made the search engine's job even harder.
With these factors out of the way, the indexation process became much smoother. often times it is the removal of obstacles that results in major techniccal success.

Based on what's actually moving rankings this year, start with crawlability and indexing, since nothing else matters if Google can't crawl or index your pages. Then focus on Core Web Vitals (mainly LCP and INP) and mobile experience, since Google ranks based on your mobile site and any gap there hurts you directly.
After that, prioritize internal linking and site structure over sitemaps, and add schema markup since it now helps AI tools understand and cite your content too. If you can only do a few things: crawl/index first, then Core Web Vitals, then mobile, then internal linking, then schema.

Over time, those missing pages can add up to hundreds or even thousands of 404 errors, and if any of those pages were driving traffic or had valuable backlinks, you could be losing SEO value. Make it a habit to monitor those errors and redirect important pages when appropriate. I'd also make sure your website works just as well on mobile as it does on desktop. Many business owners only review the desktop version during development, but the majority of users now browse on their phones, so a fast, responsive, and functional mobile experience is just as important as anything else you do for SEO.

If I had to prioritize, I'd start with making sure the important pages are being crawled and indexed properly. After that, I'd look at site structure and internal linking so Google can easily understand the content.
Site speed and Core Web Vitals are worth improving too, but in my experience, fixing crawling, indexing, and internal linking has usually had a bigger impact than chasing small speed improvements.

The biggest win for me was fixing crawl depth. Some important pages were buried too deep in the site structure. Bringing them closer to the homepage and improving internal links got them indexed faster and performing better.

In my opinion, don't optimize everything at once. Compare Search Console data, crawl logs and revenue to fix the errors that are directly affecting the most promising pages.

It is my view that the actual magic happens in solving the problems that inihibit the performance of the entire website, rather than concentrating on the scores themselves. In several instances, changing the structure of the website, eliminatingn the unnecessary pages and making the important information more accessibile can deliver results that technical SEO alone can not accomplish.
In my case, the most significant results were achieved by improving the site structure instead of focusing on individual rankings such as core web vitals. The elimination of un necessary pages, enhancing internal linking, and boosting visibility of valuable content made a little more significant difference in the long run. Technical SEO is most effective when helping search engines understand the value or importance of particular pages.
one of the things that really helped was site structuring where i tried to make sure that the vital pages r easier to access, link internal pages that should be linkked nd delete pages that do not have any value. the change may sound insignificant but it proved to be very helpfful in many ways.
