Burner sites for redirect power – what's the minimum content to avoid a doorway penalty?

Old trick: build links to a "burner" domain, then 301 to the money site.

Now Google checks the burner's content relevance. A burner with 10 blog posts about different niches looks like a doorway.

What's the minimum number of relevant posts needed to make a redirect last 12 months without being ignored?

There's no magic number. Google's spam systems then review look at intent signals, not post counts thin unrelated content, sudden redirect after link acquisition, no organic traffic history, no brand signals, etc. Sites have gotten these to "work" temporarily with 20+ posts and still lost the redirect's value in an update; others get caught with 50+. It's not a threshold you can engineer around reliably, and Google's guidelines explicitly call out this pattern (rented/expired domain redirects to pass links) as something they devalue.

I agree with both of you. There doesn't seem to be a magic number anymore - Google looks at the overall intent of the site, not just the post count.

A niche-focused site with relevant content and a natural history is far more likely to retain value than one built solely for redirects. Topical relevance matters much more than whether the site has 10, 20, or 50 posts.
 
I don't think there's a fixed number of posts that guarantees a safe redirect. The overall relevance, quality of the content, and a natural user experience seem more important than hitting a specific content count.
