Are bhw SEO forum replies becoming too generic to be useful?

I posted a thread recently asking for advice on improving the authority of a YMYL website. This one

The thread got around 17 replies, but honestly only one reply gave me something genuinely useful to think about. Most of the others were variations of

“Build relevant backlinks”
“Focus on quality links”
“Get niche relevant placements”

Technically none of that is wrong. The problem is that it doesnt really help someone decide what to actually do next

I know some replies are probably direct from chatgpt now, but even aside from that, a lot of forum advice feels like the same general seo advice repeated in different words.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Just pick what you need and discard the garbage...

AI or no AI, you will always find replies that are still generic. Even before LLMs existed, people would still give generic answers in threads. Some people do it just because they want to contribute their own 2 cents anyway

No one can run away from those kinds of comments nowadays

You should already know that before you post, so don't get your expectations too high.
It is what it is. You just gotta suck it up. That shit happens everywhere across social media too : )
 
A lot of SEO advice feels repetitive these days. People often say things like "build quality backlinks" or "focus on relevance," but they rarely explain what that actually looks like in practice. The replies that stand out are the ones that share real experience or give clear, actionable suggestions you can actually use.
 
I guess most of us understand this at some point, so you just have to pick anyone that can be useful and ignore the rest
 
Yes, and it will get worst with time. Totally predictable.

This is how internet is gonna look in general, slops everywhere; bots replying to bots and feeding on each other's outputs. Afun way to reach singularity if you really think about it.

AGI is gonna be dumber than us, and it's poetic.
 
i think AI exposed a problem that already existed.

even before AI, most replies were recycled advice because people were optimizing for post count instead of contributing something useful. AI just made that easier to scale.

personally, i pay attention to the people who explain why something works, share actual experience, or challenge assumptions. those are the replies that usually start interesting discussions rather than ending them.
 
the 100 post requirement for jr vip is part of the problem. it pushes people to write generic replies just to increase their post count. in the end it lowers the overall quality of the forum.
 
If you got 17 replies and got 1 good response that was helpful to you, statistically that is great. As long as there are still helpful responses from real people with insight it is worth it.
 
Everyone is just trying to bump their post counts or use basic AI scripts now ;). Real case studies and detailed tests are rare because people keep their working methods secret. You have to filter out the noise to find the actual gold here.

Report, report, report. AI junk replies, recycled 'advice', useless three word answers - report them all and we will review them and banish them from existence if we see fit.
