What I've seen, it doesn't seem as effective as it used to be. Although it may still work with consistent and high quality outreach.

Would love to hear your experience.

The reason HARO feels less effective is because the classic single-feed approach is dead. After Cision shut it down in late 2024 and Featured.com relaunched it in 2025, the entire journalist sourcing space fragmented across a dozen different channels.
If you are only monitoring the standard daily emails, you are competing with thousands of low-tier agencies using AI to spam generic responses the minute a query drops. Winning high-authority editorial links now requires building an aggregated pipeline that pulls requests in real-time from across multiple platforms (like Qwoted, Source of Sources, and live social feeds), then filtering them instantly by topical entity relevance rather than basic keyword matching. Are you sourcing queries manually, or are you using a structured data feed to catch them early?

haro isn't as powerful as it was before but it's still valuable if you're selective and pitch genuine expertise personalized fast responses to relevant queries tend to perform much better than sending generic replies

Bro, it's all about the niche. Some verticals, solid internal linking does the job. Others, you gotta go hard on link building aggressive as hell. Either way, it's a win. Like I said, with all your city and district pages, internal linking's your move. Still wanna build links? Run 70% anchor, 30% naked you'll be straight.

It still works but quality outreach matters more then ever. Mass outreach is not effective.

While HARO remains alive and kicking, all the low-hanging fruit have already been harvested. now is the time to come up with unique responses to journalists queries instantly nd from a position of real expertise regarding the said query.

Sure, these times of lazy outreach are officially over. Qualified leads, proper websites, and tailored offers continue to work, but you will have to be extremely picky about your outreach targets

It is worth using HARO but everything has changed. I wil not try to provide a large number but instead become a perfect match for the request. the quality will always prevail over quantity.

From what I've seen, outreach still works, but the bar is much higher now. Relevance and quality seem to matter far more than simply getting as many links as possible.

HARO still works for some people, but you need to send highly relevant pitches and focus on quality instead of just sending lots of replies.

HARO still seems useful when the pitch is genuinely relevant, like a short answer backed by firsthand experience or data. The hit rate is lower now, but selective responses sent quickly can still beat blasting generic replies to every request.
