Yes, I've seen pages rank without backlinks when search intent, content depth, and solid internal linking were exceptionally well optimized.
Yeah, this happens more than people expect, usually on low-competition, high-intent keywords where content quality and matching search intent well can outweigh the lack of a link profile entirely. I've also seen it on pages that get strong internal linking from already-authoritative pages on the same site, essentially borrowing authority internally instead of from external links.I have come across a few pages that managed to rank better than I expected, despite having little to no backlinks profile.
In some cases, it seemed like search intent and content quality carried more weight than links.
