My PayPal account has now been deactivated for more than 240 days.
I’ve sent them countless emails and PayPal chats demanding to release the funds and all they said is “due to reasons we cannot disclose, we can’t release your funds”

I have other accounts that already have funds released after 180 days(small accounts, 0-100$ in balance) so I assume the reason behind this bigger account is either due to
1. PayPal wanting to just hold the money as long as they can because they’re betting on whether I file a formal complaint or
2. I don’t have a bank or card linked, which is unlikely the reason because if that’s the case they’d just reopen the card system for me to link it.

Does anyone know how I can fix this and get the money back?

In case the duration extend beyond 240 days, stop the discusion with help and register your complaint with the financial regulatory body in your country. normally, another group will handle your complaint instead of the usual procedure that you know vry wel.

How much is the money?

Which country's PayPal account?

just make a call to paypal, remember your phone number then they can ask your ID number

Contact them by email, have all the evidence on email then try escalating the issue

They are scammers, just like Stripe.

It seems they pick some suckers like you and me to scam and refuse to release the money.

A hybrid business model, honest in most cases with most people. With others, they just steal the money, there are tens of thousands of complains about it all over the internet.
