2.0 Update!

From time to time, you might want to add more people into a direct message, to get another perspective or find out their opinion on a subject.

To add someone to a direct message, go to your inbox and click on the direct message you want them adding to. On the left hand side you will see a box with the direct message Participants:

Click 'Invite More' at the bottom of this box and a pop-up window will appear, where you can type the name of the extra participants you want to add:

Type their username in the box next to 'Invite members' and click 'Invite'.

The pop-up window will close and the new participant will appear in the direct message Participants box immediately. They will now be able to read and respond to this direct message.

Wow, this is amazing and useful.

Very useful for me. I appreciate the clarification it saves me from trying to figure out a feature that doesn't exist. Guess the best way to have a group conversation here is to start a proper thread so everyone can join in.

Yeah, same here! I was wondering about that too and thought I was just missing something in the settings. Good to know it’s not an actual feature. Starting a thread definitely seems like the easiest way to keep everyone in one place.

Nice but unable to see direct message button

Nice but unable to see direct message button

If you have a post count of less than 15 on the forum, you will not be able to start a direct message with other members.

You should, however, be able to receive direct messages (sometimes referred to as PMs/DMs/Conversations) and respond to them.

Please do not spam short, low-quality posts on the forum in an attempt to build your way to 15 posts quickly. This is against our terms and you will be given a warning for doing this.
