Sometimes giving your backlink profile a leg up with a few niche edits on aged sites can get things rolling, especially if those sites already have some street cred. I like to mix that with updating older posts on my own site, which helps keep things fresh for Google. Sussing out low-hanging fruit keywords and building ultra-simple pages around them also brings some nice referral links over time.

If your goal is a higher DA or DR, you should start with guest posts, niche edits, and content that people naturally want to link to. a strong backlink profile will increase those matrics over time.
