How to prevent "Hidden Requests" on IG Cold Outreach

I’m doing Instagram cold outreach and suddenly my account started landing in Hidden Requests.

Context:

  • Account is verified, created Nov 2025.
  • I tested a few DMs before and they all landed in normal Requests.
  • On July 1: sent 6 voice messages.
  • July 3: sent around 152–153 cold DMs in ~150 minutes.
  • Total sent from this account is around 208 DMs.
  • Result: 5–6 replies
  • Now when I test it, DMs from this account go to Hidden Requests (tested it by asking friends, where they see my message)
  • I dont use any automation at all, everything is manual.
Message format:

  1. I send a individual 20second voice memo first (altough I always say the same text, only variable is their name)
  2. Then a link to one of my Instagram post that contains testimonials as proof (directly after)
Possible issue:
In around 15–20% of chats, I sent the post link while the voice message was still uploading, so the recipient may have received the post/link first and the audio second. Maybe Instagram saw it as “this account is mass-sharing links/posts” and flagged it.

My questions:

  • Is Hidden Requests mainly triggered by volume/speed, repeated message patterns, post links, or link-before-audio order?
  • Can an account recover from this, or should I rotate to a clean account?
  • What would you change to prevent new accounts from landing in Hidden Requests?
  • Would spacing out DMs, removing post links, sending text/audio only first, or waiting before sending proof help?
Looking for real-world IG outreach/deliverability experience, not generic advice. I know some OG's are in here :D

Thx, I think so too! Do you have any warm-up procedure for cold coutreach (especially my case with audio + post) - for example I can easily do 185 follows per day if I step up a account from 39 -> 97 -> 185 follows per day per device per account. What kind of volume step up would you recommend here?

Have you found any hard limits / sweets spots of cold outreaches per day per account per device?
 
The problem you're experiencing is related to the transmission and format of the audio files; they're not synchronized, causing the issue. To fix this, you can try sending a certain number of messages intermittently over a period of time. This will prevent the system from detecting that you're spamming your account, instead allowing it to function naturally. This will be much more effective than the current method.

thx got it, so just do a certain amount of outreaches across the day is what you are saying?
 
accounts often do if you stop the triggering behavior for a couple weeks, reduce volume, and make the dms look less templated.
 
Sending 150 messages in 150 minutes is too fast for a new account under 6 months old. Typically, the safe limit for new accounts is only 20-50 requests per day. When you exceed this limit, the AI will immediately flag your account as suspicious for spam.
 
150+ dms in 150 min is the trigger, not the link order, that speed alone screams spam regardless of what you send
 
youre sending too many dms. Try reducing a bit your quota
Also certain words trigger that, but you cant know exactly which one so just be careful

Use different accounts and reduce the number of Dms you send everyday
 
To minimize hidden requests, warm up accounts and tweak your DMs
 
It would make sense that you sent more than 150 cold DMs to be the cause of why Instagram is not delivering your messages. Instagram could prevent messages from getting through due to sending too many DMs within a short amount of time. You should take some time off, send less messages per day, personalize more messages, and do not send links on the first message.
