You need to be patient for 3 to 6 months with a new account for your profile to build enough credibility and reach a strong distribution channel.

pinterest is basically two speeds and thats what confuses people. theres a small immediate test push in the first hours (followers + a tiny related feed) driven by early saves, then the REAL traffic which is search, and that builds over weeks to months as the pin gets indexed for keywords, ohair is right on the 3-6 month credibility part. so judging a pin after a few days only shows you phase one. on metadata: dont keyword-stuff, write the title and description as actual search phrases people type (its a search engine) and put readable text on the image since visual search reads it. but mostly its save-velocity + patience. how old is the account, and how long have you given these pins so far?

my account was made recently so will wait a few months also thanks for the tip about adding text inside pin and using as search metadata.

One thing nobody mentioned yet, the board you pin it to counts as metadata too. Pinterest reads the board title and description for context, so if your best pin is sitting on some generic board it loses relevance. Make a board thats tightly themed around the same keywords and put the pin there.
Also fresh images beat reposting the same one over and over. Pinterest kinda favors new pins so instead of pushing the same graphic again, make 3-4 variations with different text overlay and titles pointing to the same url. Spreads your keyword coverage and one of them usually pulls ahead.
@marcotwzrd2 point about save velocity is the real thing though, everything else is just helping the algo understand what to rank you for.

good adds from theorank, the board-as-metadata + variations combo is the right play. one caveat on the 3-4 variations to the same url though: pinterest will flag them as spam if theyre too similar or dropped too fast, so space them over a few days and make them genuinely different images, not just a text swap, otherwise it reads as url-spam not a content library. and fredtheceo since your accounts brand new, the highest-leverage thing early isnt more pins, its getting your first handful some real saves (even manually) so the algo learns the account makes save-worthy stuff, that lifts your whole baseline faster than volume. are you making the pins genuinely different or same graphic + new text right now?

Alternatively, you could try adding niche keywords closely related to the article's topic at the beginning or end of the description. Ensure the text contains open-ended questions or controversial viewpoints to encourage further discussion in the comments section.

Pinterest's trending algorithm is very slow and has a high refresh rate ,usually taking 1-3 months to resolve suggestions, but in return, trending posts will generate extremely sustainable traffic for many years.
